Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical loss of a hydroxide catalysis bond between sapphire substrates and its effect on the sensitivity of future gravitational wave detectors

TL;DR: In this paper, the first measurements of the mechanical loss of such a bond created between sapphire substrates and measured down to cryogenic temperatures were presented, and the resulting thermal noise of the bonds on several possible mirror suspensions was presented.
Journal Article

First low-frequency Einstein@Home all-sky search for continuous gravitational waves in Advanced LIGO data

B. P. Abbott, +1039 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported results of a deep all-sky search for periodic gravitational waves from isolated neutron stars in data from the first Advanced LIGO observing run, where they found no significant signal candidate and set the most stringent upper limits to date on the amplitude of gravitational wave signals from the target population.

All-sky, all-frequency directional search for persistent gravitational-waves from Advanced LIGO's and Advanced Virgo's first three observing runs

Richard J. Abbott, +1626 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first results from an all-sky all-frequency (ASAF) search for an anisotropic stochastic gravitational-wave background using the data from the first three observing runs of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors were published.

Search for gravitational waves from intermediate mass binary black holes

J. Abadie, +789 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of a weakly modeled burst search for gravitational waves from mergers of nonspinning intermediate mass black holes in the total mass range 100-450 M-circle dot and with the component mass ratios between 1: and 4:1 were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

All-sky search for long-duration gravitational-wave bursts in the third Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo run

Richard J. Abbott, +1611 more
- 29 Jul 2021 -
TL;DR: In this article, the root-sum-square amplitude h rss as a function of waveform morphology was used to detect long-duration gravitational-wave transients from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo.
