Journal ArticleDOI

An Upstream Open Reading Frame Is Essential for Feedback Regulation of Ascorbate Biosynthesis in Arabidopsis

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ascorbate concentrations are determined via the posttranscriptional repression of GDP-l-galactose phosphorylase (GGP), a major control enzyme in the asCorbate biosynthesis pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

A manually annotated Actinidia chinensis var. chinensis (kiwifruit) genome highlights the challenges associated with draft genomes and gene prediction in plants

Sarah M. Pilkington, +102 more
- 16 Apr 2018 -
TL;DR: The use of the manual annotation tool WebApollo facilitated manual checking and correction of gene models enabling improvement of computational prediction, especially relevant for certain types of gene families such as the EXPANSIN like genes.
Posted ContentDOI

NRG1-mediated recognition of HopQ1 reveals a link between PAMP- and Effector-triggered Immunity

TL;DR: It is shown that silencing of the CCR-NB-LRR helper protein N Requirement Gene 1 (NRG1) prevents HopQ1 recognition in N. benthamiana and that NRG1 expression confers recognition ofHopQ1 and restricts Pto DC3000 proliferation in the otherwise susceptible host Arabidopsis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Screening Actinidia Germplasm for Different Levels of Tolerance, or Resistance, to Psa (Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae)

TL;DR: The identification and characterization of different degrees of tolerance and the presence of host-pathogen resistance within the Actinidia germplasm are important contributions to the development of kiwifruit cultivars resistant to Psa.
