TL;DR: The use of the manual annotation tool WebApollo facilitated manual checking and correction of gene models enabling improvement of computational prediction, especially relevant for certain types of gene families such as the EXPANSIN like genes.

A draft genome sequence of European pear (Pyrus communis L. ‘Bartlett’)

TL;DR: In this article, a draft assembly of the genome of European pear (Pyrus communis) "Bartlett" is presented, which contains 142,083 scaffolds greater than 499 bases (maximum scaffold length of 1.2 Mb) and covers a total of 577.3 Mb.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two Loci, RiAF3 and RiAF4, Contribute to the Annual-Fruiting Trait in Rubus.

TL;DR: Trait mapping in a red raspberry population segregating for AF indicated that AF is controlled by two newly identified loci (RiAF3 and RiAF4) located on Rubus linkage groups (LGs) 3 and 4, and confirmed that AF in Rubus is regulated by loci on LG 3 and4, in addition to a previously reported locus on LG 7.
