Journal ArticleDOI
Associations between personality disorders and cannabis use and cannabis use disorder: a population-based twin study.
Nathan A. Gillespie,Steven H. Aggen,Michael C. Neale,Gun Peggy Knudsen,Robert F. Krueger,Susan C. South,Nikolai Olavi Czajkowski,Nikolai Olavi Czajkowski,Ragnar Nesvåg,Eivind Ystrom,Eivind Ystrom,Kenneth S. Kendler,Ted Reichborn-Kjennerud,Ted Reichborn-Kjennerud +13 more
TL;DR: Individual differences in the liability to cannabis use and cannabis use disorder appear to be linked to genetic risks correlated with antisocial and borderline personality disorder traits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic and environmental influences on thin-ideal internalization.
Jessica L. Suisman,Shannon M. O'Connor,Steffanie Sperry,J. Kevin Thompson,Pamela K. Keel,S. Alexandra Burt,Michael C. Neale,Steven M. Boker,Cheryl L. Sisk,Kelly L. Klump +9 more
TL;DR: Research is needed to investigate possible interplay between genetic and nonshared environmental factors in the development of thin-ideal internalization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comorbidity between alcohol dependence and illicit drug dependence in adolescents with antisocial behavior and matched controls
Soo Hyun Rhee,John K. Hewitt,Susan E. Young,Robin P. Corley,Thomas J. Crowley,Michael C. Neale,Michael C. Stallings +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the best hypotheses explaining the comorbidity between alcohol and illicit drug dependence in adolescents are that alcohol dependence and illicitdrug dependence are manifestations of a single general liability to develop substance dependence or that there are separate liabilities that are highly correlated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ageing and the relation of aggression altruism and assertiveness scales to the eysenck personality questionnaire
TL;DR: In this article, the Eysenck personality questionnaire was used to measure age, aggressive, assertive, and altruistic tendencies of adult twins and found that aggression is positively related to psychoticism and is negatively related to indices of prosocial behavior, including the lie scale.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using a factor mixture modeling approach in alcohol dependence in a general population sample
Po-Hsiu Kuo,Po-Hsiu Kuo,Steven H. Aggen,Carol A. Prescott,Kenneth S. Kendler,Michael C. Neale +5 more
TL;DR: Clinically, the expanded classification of AD may aid in identifying suitable treatments, interventions and additional sources of comorbidity based on these more homogenous subgroups of alcohol use problems based on the DSM-IV criteria.
