Germline gain-of-function mutations in RAF1 cause Noonan syndrome
M. Abdur Razzaque,Tsutomu Nishizawa,Yuta Komoike,Yuta Komoike,Hisato Yagi,Michiko Furutani,Ryunosuke Amo,Ryunosuke Amo,Mitsuhiro Kamisago,Kazuo Momma,Hiroshi Katayama,Masao Nakagawa,Yuko Fujiwara,Masaki Matsushima,Katsumi Mizuno,Mika Tokuyama,Hamao Hirota,Jun Muneuchi,Toru Higashinakagawa,Rumiko Matsuoka +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify five different mutations in RAF1 in ten individuals with Noonan syndrome; those with any of four mutations causing changes in the CR2 domain of RAF1 had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), whereas affected individuals with mutations leading to changes in CR3 domain did not.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct Impact of Imatinib on Growth at Prepubertal and Pubertal Ages of Children with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
Haruko Shima,Mika Tokuyama,Akihiko Tanizawa,Chikako Tono,Kazuko Hamamoto,Hideki Muramatsu,Akihiro Watanabe,Noriko Hotta,Masaki Ito,Hidemitsu Kurosawa,Koji Kato,Masahito Tsurusawa,Keizo Horibe,Hiroyuki Shimada +13 more
TL;DR: Growth impairment was a major adverse effect of long-term imatinib treatment in children with chronic myeloid leukemia and the distinct inhibitory effect ofImatinib on growth in prepubertal and pubertal children with CML is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
A conditioning regimen of busulfan, fludarabine, and melphalan for allogeneic stem cell transplantation in children with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia.
Miharu Yabe,Masahiro Sako,Hiromasa Yabe,Yuko Osugi,Hidemitsu Kurosawa,Taemi Nara,Mika Tokuyama,Souichi Adachi,Chie Kobayashi,Masakatsu Yanagimachi,Yoshitoshi Ohtsuka,Yozo Nakazawa,Chitose Ogawa,Atsushi Manabe,Seiji Kojima,Tatsutoshi Nakahata +15 more
TL;DR: HSCT following conditioning with fludarabine, busulfan, and melphalan was well tolerated and appeared to be effective for JMML.
Journal ArticleDOI
Secondary cancers among children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia treated by the Tokyo Children's Cancer Study Group protocols: a retrospective cohort study.
Yasushi Ishida,Miho Maeda,Kevin Y. Urayama,Chikako Kiyotani,Yuki Aoki,Yoko Kato,Shoko Goto,Sachi Sakaguchi,Kenichi Sugita,Mika Tokuyama,Naoya Nakadate,Eizaburo Ishii,Masahiro Tsuchida,Akira Ohara +13 more
TL;DR: Multivariate analyses showed an increased risk of secondary cancers associated with the recent treatment protocol and cranial irradiation, and there was no evidence of a reduction in secondary cancer incidence despite marked decreases in cranials irradiation use in the recent protocols.
Journal ArticleDOI
A boy with membranous nephropathy after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation
TL;DR: A 6-year-old boy developed bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia and nephrotic syndrome 5 months after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation from an unrelated donor for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which is the youngest case with nephrotsic syndrome due to membranous nephropathy after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
