Quantifying HIV transmission flow between high-prevalence hotspots and surrounding communities: a population-based study in Rakai, Uganda

Oliver Ratmann, +99 more
- 01 Mar 2020 -
TL;DR: Cross-community HIV transmissions between Lake Victoria hotspots and surrounding inland populations are infrequent and when they occur, virus more commonly flows into rather than out of hotspots, suggesting targeted interventions to these hotspots will not alone control the epidemic in inland populations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factors Related to Female Sex Workers' Willingness to Utilize VCT Service: A Qualitative Study in Jinan City, Northern China

Journal ArticleDOI

HIV and parasitic infection and the effect of treatment among adult outpatients in Malawi.

TL;DR: Enteric parasitic infection prevalence and the effect of treatment on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) RNA levels were measured to assess their importance to HIV primary care in resource-limited settings and parasitic infections did not impact HIV RNA levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

The pharmacokinetics and viral activity of tenofovir in the male genital tract.

TL;DR: High TFV concentrations were achieved rapidly in the GT of all subjects after single and multiple doses and potently reduced BP and GT HIV-1 RNA levels.
