Akkermansia muciniphila and improved metabolic health during a dietary intervention in obesity : relationship with gut microbiome richness and ecology [plus Supplementary data]
Maria Carlota Dao,Amandine Everard,Judith Aron-Wisnewsky,Nataliya Sokolovska,Edi Prifti,Eric O. Verger,Brandon D. Kayser,Florence Levenez,Julien Chilloux,Lesley Hoyles,Marc E. Dumas,Salwa W. Rizkalla,Joël Doré,Patrice D. Cani,Karine Clément,S. Le Mouhaër,Aurélie Cotillard,Sean Kennedy,Nicolas Pons,Mathieu Almeida,Benoit Quinquis,Nathalie Galleron,Jean-Michel Batto,Pierre Renault,Jean-Daniel Zucker,S. Dusko Ehrlich,Hervé M. Blottière,Marion Leclerc,Catherine Juste,T. De Wouters,Patricia Lepage +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the association between faecal A. muciniphila abundance and microbial gene richness after calorie restriction (CR) in overweight and obese adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Data Integration Multi-Omics Approach to Study Calorie Restriction-Induced Changes in Insulin Sensitivity
Maria Carlota Dao,Nataliya Sokolovska,Rémi Brazeilles,Séverine Affeldt,Véronique Pelloux,Edi Prifti,Edi Prifti,Julien Chilloux,Eric O. Verger,Brandon D. Kayser,Judith Aron-Wisnewsky,Farid Ichou,Estelle Pujos-Guillot,Lesley Hoyles,Lesley Hoyles,Catherine Juste,Joël Doré,Marc-Emmanuel Dumas,Salwa W. Rizkalla,Bridget A. Holmes,Jean-Daniel Zucker,Jean-Daniel Zucker,Karine Clément +22 more
TL;DR: This work has enhanced previous knowledge on links between host glucose homeostasis, lifestyle factors and the gut microbiota, and has identified potential biomarkers that may be used in future studies to predict and improve individual response to weight-loss interventions.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
The fused lasso penalty for learning interpretable medical scoring systems
TL;DR: An original methodology to simultaneously learn interpretable binning mapped to a class variable, and the weights associated with these bins contributing to the score is introduced.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Deep Self-Organising Maps for efficient heterogeneous biomedical signatures extraction
TL;DR: This work introduces a feature selection framework based on powerful visualisation capabilities of self-organising maps, where the deep structure can be learned in a supervised or unsupervised manner, and proposes to carry out inference with a linear SVM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deep kernel dimensionality reduction for scalable data integration
TL;DR: This work proposes a novel approach, called Deep Kernel Dimensionality Reduction which is designed for learning layers of new compact data representations simultaneously, and shows that the proposed method embeds data in a new compact meaningful representation, and leads to a lower classification error compared to the state of the art methods.
