Development and validation of the EUROFORGEN NAME (North African and Middle Eastern) ancestry panel.

TL;DR: A custom-built ancestry panel was developed to analyze North African and Middle Eastern populations, designated the 'NAME' panel, which contains 111 SNPs that have patterns of allele frequency differentiation that can distinguish individuals originating in North Africa and the Middle East when combined with a previous set of 126 Global AIM-SNPs.

COVID-19 morbidity in Afghanistan: a nationwide, population-based seroepidemiological study

TL;DR: The survey revealed that, to July 2020, around 10 million people in Afghanistan (31.5% of the population) had either current or previous COVID-19 infection, which implies that most of thepopulation remained at risk of infection.
