Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical outcomes of state-of-the-art percutaneous coronary revascularization in patients with de novo three vessel disease: 1-year results of the SYNTAX II study.
Javier Escaned,Carlos Collet,Nicola Ryan,Giovanni Luigi De Maria,Simon J Walsh,Manel Sabaté,Justin E. Davies,Maciej Lesiak,Raúl Moreno,Ignacio Cruz-Gonzalez,S.P Hoole,Nick E.J. West,Jan J. Piek,Azfar Zaman,Farzin Fath-Ordoubadi,Rodney H. Stables,Clare Appleby,Nicolas M. Van Mieghem,Robert J. van Geuns,Neal G. Uren,Javier Zueco,Paweł Buszman,Andrés Iñiguez,Javier Goicolea,David Hildick-Smith,Andrzej Ochała,Dariusz Dudek,Colm G. Hanratty,Rafael Cavalcante,Arie Pieter Kappetein,David P. Taggart,Gerrit-Anne van Es,Marie-Angèle Morel,Ton de Vries,Yoshinobu Onuma,Vasim Farooq,Patrick W. Serruys,Adrian P. Banning +37 more
TL;DR: At one year, clinical outcomes with the SYNTAX-II strategy were associated with improved clinical results compared to the PCI performed in comparable patients from the original SYN TAX-I trial, and a randomized clinical trial with contemporary CABG is warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety of the Deferral of Coronary Revascularization on the Basis of Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio and Fractional Flow Reserve Measurements in Stable Coronary Artery Disease and Acute Coronary Syndromes.

Walters,Hiroyoshi Yokoi,Ole Fröbert,Manesh R. Patel,Patrick W. Serruys,Justin E. Davies,Justin E. Davies,Matthias Götberg +88 more
TL;DR: Overall, deferral of revascularization is equally safe with both iFR and FFR, with a low MACE rate of about 4%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fractional Flow Reserve Derived From Computed Tomographic Angiography in Patients With Multivessel CAD.
Carlos Collet,Yosuke Miyazaki,Nicola Ryan,Taku Asano,Erhan Tenekecioglu,Jeroen Sonck,Daniele Andreini,Manel Sabaté,Salvatore Brugaletta,Rodney H. Stables,Antonio L. Bartorelli,Robbert J. de Winter,Yuki Katagiri,Ply Chichareon,Giovanni Luigi De Maria,Pannipa Suwannasom,Rafael Cavalcante,Hans Jonker,Marie Angèle Morel,Bernard Cosyns,Arie Pieter Kappetein,David T. Taggart,Vasim Farooq,Javier Escaned,Adrian P. Banning,Yoshinobu Onuma,Patrick W. Serruys +26 more
TL;DR: Calculation of the noninvasive FSS is feasible and yielded similar results to those obtained with invasive pressure-wire assessment, and FFRCT has good accuracy in detecting functionally significant lesions in patients with 3-vessel CAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mortality due to cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and cancer in adults with cerebral palsy.
Jennifer M Ryan,Jennifer M Ryan,Mark D. Peterson,Nicola Ryan,Nicola Ryan,Kimberley J. Smith,Neil E O'Connell,Silvia Liverani,Nana Anokye,Christina R. Victor,Elizabeth Allen +10 more
TL;DR: To compare mortality rates for cardiovascular disease, cancer, and respiratory disease between adults with cerebral palsy (CP) and the general population, a large sample of adults with CP were recruited for this study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting the dominant mechanism of coronary microvascular dysfunction with intracoronary physiology tests
Hernán Mejía-Rentería,Hernán Mejía-Rentería,Nina W. van der Hoeven,Tim P. van de Hoef,Julius Heemelaar,Nicola Ryan,Amir Lerman,Niels van Royen,Javier Escaned,Javier Escaned +9 more
TL;DR: The mechanisms of coronary microvascular dysfunction and the intracoronary tools currently available to detect it are discussed, as well as the potential role of each one to unmask the main underlying mechanism.
