TL;DR: In this paper, a glacial climate record derived from an ice core from Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica, which represents South Atlantic climate at a resolution comparable with the Greenland ice core records was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Results of the Marine Ice Sheet Model Intercomparison Project, MISMIP
Frank Pattyn,Christian Schoof,Laura Perichon,Richard C. A. Hindmarsh,Ed Bueler,B. de Fleurian,G. Durand,Olivier Gagliardini,Rupert Gladstone,Daniel Goldberg,G. H. Gudmundsson,Philippe Huybrechts,Victoria Lee,Faezeh M. Nick,Faezeh M. Nick,Antony J. Payne,David Pollard,Oleg Rybak,Fuyuki Saito,Andreas Vieli +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results of an intercomparison exercise for marine ice-sheet models, using simplified geometrical configura- tions (no lateral variations, no effects of lateral buttressing).
Journal ArticleDOI
Grounding-line migration in plan-view marine ice-sheet models: results of the ice2sea MISMIP3d intercomparison
Frank Pattyn,Laura Perichon,Gaël Durand,Lionel Favier,Olivier Gagliardini,Richard C. A. Hindmarsh,Thomas Zwinger,Torsten Albrecht,Torsten Albrecht,Stephen Cornford,David Docquier,Johannes J. Fürst,Daniel Goldberg,G. Hilmar Gudmundsson,Angelika Humbert,Angelika Humbert,Moritz Hütten,Moritz Hütten,Philippe Huybrechts,Guillaume Jouvet,Thomas Kleiner,Eric Larour,Daniel F. Martin,Mathieu Morlighem,Anthony J. Payne,David Pollard,Martin Rückamp,Oleg Rybak,Helene Seroussi,Malte Thoma,Nina Wilkens +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results of an intercomparison experiment for plan-view marine ice-sheet models and show that the numerical error associated with predicting grounding line motion can be reduced significantly below the errors associated with parameter ignorance and uncertainties in future scenarios.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ice thinning, upstream advection, and non-climatic biases for the upper 89% of the EDML ice core from a nested model of the Antarctic ice sheet
Philippe Huybrechts,Philippe Huybrechts,Oleg Rybak,Oleg Rybak,Frank Pattyn,Urs Ruth,Daniel Steinhage +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a high-resolution higher-order ice dynamic flow model was developed for eastern Dronning Maud Land to assist with the dating and interpretation of the EDML deep ice core.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reconstruction of the annual balance of Vadret da Morteratsch, Switzerland, since 1865
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reconstructed the annual balance of Vadret da Morteratsch, Engadine, Switzer land, with a two-dimensional energy-balance model for the period 1865-2005.
