Transcriptome-wide isoform-level dysregulation in ASD, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder
Michael J. Gandal,Pan Zhang,Evi Hadjimichael,Rebecca L. Walker,Chao Chen,Shuang Liu,Hyejung Won,Harm van Bakel,Merina Varghese,Yongjun Wang,Annie W. Shieh,Jillian R. Haney,Sepideh Parhami,Judson Belmont,Minsoo Kim,Patricia Moran Losada,Zenab Khan,Justyna Mleczko,Yan Xia,Yan Xia,Rujia Dai,Rujia Dai,Daifeng Wang,Yucheng T. Yang,Min Xu,Kenneth N. Fish,Patrick R. Hof,Jonathan Warrell,Dominic Fitzgerald,Kevin P. White,Andrew E. Jaffe,Mette A. Peters,Mark Gerstein,Chunyu Liu,Chunyu Liu,Chunyu Liu,Lilia M. Iakoucheva,Dalila Pinto,Daniel H. Geschwind +38 more
TL;DR: This work integrated genotypes and RNA sequencing in brain samples from 1695 individuals with autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, as well as controls to identify causal drivers and define a mechanistic basis for the composite activity of genetic risk variants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitoflash frequency in early adulthood predicts lifespan in Caenorhabditis elegans
En Zhi Shen,Chun-Qing Song,Yuan Lin,Wen Hong Zhang,Pei Fang Su,Wen Yuan Liu,Pan Zhang,Jiejia Xu,Na Lin,Cheng Zhan,Xianhua Wang,Yu Shyr,Heping Cheng,Meng-Qiu Dong +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the day-3 mitoflash frequency is a powerful predictor of C. elegans lifespan across genetic, environmental and stochastic factors and support the notion that the rate of ageing, although adjustable in later life, has been set to a considerable degree before reproduction ceases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trifunctional cross-linker for mapping protein-protein interaction networks and comparing protein conformational states
Dan Tan,Qiang Li,Mei-Jun Zhang,Chao Liu,Chengying Ma,Pan Zhang,Yue-He Ding,Sheng-Bo Fan,Li Tao,Bing Yang,Xiangke Li,Shoucai Ma,Jun-Jie Liu,Boya Feng,Xiaohui Liu,Hong-Wei Wang,Si-Min He,Ning Gao,Keqiong Ye,Meng-Qiu Dong,Xiaoguang Lei +20 more
TL;DR: A lysine-targeted enrichable cross-linker containing a biotin tag for affinity purification, a chemical cleavage site to separate cross-linked peptides away from biotin after enrichment, and a spacer arm that can be labeled with stable isotopes for quantitation is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Profiling the RNA editomes of wild-type C. elegans and ADAR mutants.
Han-Qing Zhao,Pan Zhang,Hua Gao,Xian-Dong He,Yanmei Dou,August Yue Huang,Ximing Liu,Adam Yongxin Ye,Meng-Qiu Dong,Liping Wei +9 more
TL;DR: A new computational pipeline with a "bisulfite-seq-mapping-like" step and a threefold increase in identification sensitivity is developed and revealed a sophisticated landscape of RNA editing and distinct modes of action of different ADARs.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Utilization of Formalin Fixed-Paraffin-Embedded Specimens in High Throughput Genomic Studies.
TL;DR: The findings of these studies are summarized and the limitations of high throughput data generated from FFPE specimens across several platforms that include microarray, high throughput sequencing, and NanoString are discussed.
