Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of Direct-Photon Collective Flow in Au plus Au Collisions at root s(NN)=200 GeV

A. Adare, +384 more
TL;DR: In the p(T) < 4 GeV/c region dominated by thermal photons, a substantial direct-photon v(2) comparable to that of hadrons is found, whereas model calculations for thermal photons in this kinematic region underpredict the observed v( 2).
BookDOI

Nonlinear Science at the Dawn of the 21st Century

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the Dynamics of Topological defects in solids is presented. But the model is based on the Schrodinger model, which is not suitable for nonlinear systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attraction of nonlocal dark optical solitons

TL;DR: It is shown that unlike in local materials, where darksolitons typically repel, the nonlocal nonlinearity leads to a long-range attraction and formation of stable bound states of dark solitons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soliton excitations in Josephson tunnel junctions

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed numerical study of a sine-Gordon model of the Josephson tunnel junction is compared with experimental measurements on junctions with different ratios of soliton oscillations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study of 2+1 dimensional sine-Gordon solitons

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamics of sine-Gordon solitons in two spatial dimensions are studied and new results like 4π-break up, solon-on-soliton effect, and scattering at a circular inhomogeneity are reported.
