Role of Surveillance Biopsy with No Cancer as a Prognostic Marker for Reclassification: Results from the Canary Prostate Active Surveillance Study
James T. Kearns,Anna Faino,Lisa F. Newcomb,James D. Brooks,Peter R. Carroll,Atreya Dash,William J. Ellis,Michael D. Fabrizio,Martin E. Gleave,Todd M. Morgan,Peter S. Nelson,Ian M. Thompson,Andrew A. Wagner,Yingye Zheng,Daniel W. Lin +14 more
TL;DR: Men who have a surveillance PNB with no evidence of cancer are significantly less likely to reclassify on AS in the PASS cohort, and these findings have implications for tailoring AS protocols.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical determinants for successful circulating tumor DNA analysis in prostate cancer.
Michael T. Schweizer,Roman Gulati,Mallory Beightol,Eric Q. Konnick,Heather H. Cheng,Nola Klemfuss,Navonil De Sarkar,Evan Y. Yu,R. Bruce Montgomery,Peter S. Nelson,Colin C. Pritchard +10 more
TL;DR: Next generation sequencing of cell‐free DNA ofcfDNA may not be appropriate for all patients with advanced prostate cancer (PC), but it is an attractive biospecimen for assessing somatic mutations due to minimally‐invasive real‐time sampling.
Journal ArticleDOI
ETS Related Gene mediated Androgen Receptor Aggregation and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Prostate Cancer Development.
Taduru Sreenath,Shiela S. Macalindong,Natallia Mikhalkevich,Shashwat Sharad,Ahmed A. Mohamed,Denise Young,Talaibek Borbiev,Charles P. HPV16 induces penile intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous cell carcinoma in transgenic mice: first mouse model for HPV‐related penile cancer
Beatriz Medeiros-Fonseca,Verónica F. Mestre,Diogo Estêvão,Diego F. Sanchez,Sofía Cañete-Portillo,María José Fernández-Nestosa,Fátima Casaca,Sandra Silva,Haissa Oliveira Brito,Ana Félix,Rui Medeiros,Bruno Colaço,Paula A. Oliveira,Margarida Bastos,Peter S. Nelson,Peter S. Nelson,Funda Vakar-Lopez,Isabel Gaivão,Luciane Maria Oliveira Brito,Carlos Lopes,Antonio L. Cubilla,Rui Costa +21 more
TL;DR: This is the first mouse model to recapitulate key steps of HPV‐related penile carcinogenesis and to reproduce morphological and molecular features of human penile cancer, providing a unique in vivo tool for studying its biology and advancing basic and translational research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Timing of Adverse Prostate Cancer Reclassification on First Surveillance Biopsy: Results from the Canary Prostate Cancer Active Surveillance Study
Liam C. Macleod,William J. Ellis,William J. Ellis,Lisa F. Newcomb,Yingye Zheng,James D. Brooks,Peter R. Carroll,Martin E. Gleave,Raymond S. Lance,Peter S. Nelson,Ian M. Thompson,Andrew A. Wagner,John T. Wei,Daniel W. Lin,Daniel W. Lin,Daniel W. Lin +15 more
TL;DR: Timing of the first active surveillance biopsy was not associated with increased adverse reclassification but prostate specific antigen density and body mass index were; in low risk patients on active surveillance, it may be reasonable to perform the first Active Surveillance biopsy at a later time.
