Journal ArticleDOI
Caspase-dependent immunogenicity of doxorubicin-induced tumor cell death.
Noelia Casares,Marie O. Pequignot,Antoine Tesniere,François Ghiringhelli,Stephan Roux,Nathalie Chaput,Elise Schmitt,Ahmed Hamaï,Sandra Hervas-Stubbs,Michel Obeid,Fréderic Philippe Coutant,Didier Métivier,Evelyne Pichard,Pierre Aucouturier,Gérard Pierron,Carmen Garrido,Laurence Zitvogel,Guido Kroemer +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that even in the absence of any adjuvant, tumor cells dying in response to anthracyclins can elicit an effective antitumor immune response that suppresses the growth of inoculated tumors or leads to the regression of established neoplasia.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Clonogenic Bone Marrow Progenitor Specific for Macrophages and Dendritic Cells
Darin K. Fogg,Claire Sibon,Chaouki Miled,Steffen Jung,Pierre Aucouturier,Dan R. Littman,Ana Cumano,Frederic Geissmann +7 more
TL;DR: The isolation and clonal analysis of a mouse bone marrow progenitor that is specific for monocytes, several macrophage subsets, and resident spleen DCs in vivo is described, providing a cellular and molecular basis for the concept of the mononuclear phagocyte system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Megalin Knockout Mice as an Animal Model of Low Molecular Weight Proteinuria
Jörg-Robert Leheste,Boris Rolinski,Henrik Vorum,Jan Hilpert,Anders Nykjaer,Christian Jacobsen,Pierre Aucouturier,Jan Øivind Moskaug,Albrecht Otto,Erik Ilsø Christensen,Thomas E. Willnow +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that megalin-deficient mice exhibit a tubular resorption deficiency and excrete low molecular weight plasma proteins in the urine (low molecular weight proteinuria) and patients with low molecularWeight proteinuria are shown to excrete vitamin/carrier complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reversion of prion protein conformational changes by synthetic b-sheet breaker peptides
Claudio Soto,Richard J. Kascsak,Gabriela P. Saborio,Pierre Aucouturier,Thomas Wisniewski,Frances Prelli,Regina Kascsak,Enrique Méndez,David A. Harris,James W. Ironside,Fabrizio Tagliavini,Richard I. Carp,Blas Frangione +12 more
TL;DR: Beta-sheet breaker peptides reverse PrP conformational changes implicated in the pathogenesis of spongiform encephalopathies and might represent a novel therapeutic approach for prion-related disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulatory T cells delay disease progression in Alzheimer-like pathology.
Cira Dansokho,Cira Dansokho,Dylla Ait Ahmed,Dylla Ait Ahmed,Saba Aid,Saba Aid,Cécile Toly-Ndour,Cécile Toly-Ndour,Thomas Chaigneau,Thomas Chaigneau,Vanessa Calle,Vanessa Calle,Nicolas Cagnard,Martin Holzenberger,Martin Holzenberger,Eliane Piaggio,Eliane Piaggio,Pierre Aucouturier,Pierre Aucouturier,Guillaume Dorothée,Guillaume Dorothée +20 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that regulatory T cells play a beneficial role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease, by slowing disease progression and modulating microglial response to amyloid-β deposition.
