Petawatt and exawatt class lasers worldwide
Colin N. Danson,Constantin Haefner,Jake Bromage,Thomas Butcher,Jean-Christophe Chanteloup,Enam Chowdhury,Almantas Galvanauskas,Leonida A. Gizzi,Joachim Hein,David Hillier,Nicholas Hopps,Yoshiaki Kato,Efim A. Khazanov,Ryosuke Kodama,Georg Korn,Ruxin Li,Yutong Li,Jens Limpert,Jingui Ma,Chang Hee Nam,David Neely,Dimitrios Papadopoulos,Rory R. Penman,Liejia Qian,Jorge J. Rocca,Andrey Shaykin,Craig W. Siders,Christopher Spindloe,Sándor Szatmári,Raoul Trines,Jianqiang Zhu,Ping Zhu,Jonathan D. Zuegel +32 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a comprehensive update of the current status of ultra-high-power lasers and demonstrate how the technology has developed, and what technologies are to be deployed to get to these new regimes, and some critical issues facing their development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of nanogratings on the surface of a ZnSe crystal irradiated by femtosecond laser pulses
T. Q. Jia,H. X. Chen,Min Huang,Fu-Li Zhao,J. R. Qiu,Ruxin Li,Zhigang Xu,X. K. He,Jing Zhang,Hiroto Kuroda +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of the nanograting was attributed to the interference between the surface scattered wave of 800 nm lasers and the 400 nm light, and the period of the lambda was about lambda/2n, where n is refractive index of the sample, and lambda, the laser wavelength.
Journal ArticleDOI
Generation of an extreme ultraviolet supercontinuum in a two-color laser field.
TL;DR: An ultrabroad extreme ultraviolet supercontinuum spectrum with a 148 eV spectral width can be generated which directly creates an isolated 65 as pulse even without phase compensation, and is explained by analyzing maximum electron kinetic energies at different return times.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advances in intense femtosecond laser filamentation in air
See Leang Chin,Tie-Jun Wang,C. Marceau,Jian Wu,Jiansheng Liu,Olga G. Kosareva,Nikolay Panov,Yanping Chen,J.-F. Daigle,Shuai Yuan,A. Azarm,Weiwei Liu,Tamar Seideman,Heping Zeng,Martin Richardson,Ruxin Li,Zhigang Xu +16 more
TL;DR: A review of femtosecond filamentation can be found in this paper with emphasis on the collective work of filamentation nonlinear optics, which is a new hot subject of current debate.
Journal ArticleDOI
All-optical cascaded laser wakefield accelerator using ionization-induced injection.
Jiansheng Liu,Changquan Xia,Wentao Wang,Haiyang Lu,C. Wang,Aihua Deng,Wentao Li,H. Y. Zhang,X. Y. Liang,Yongbin Leng,Xinchao Lu,C. Wang,Jun-Zhong Wang,K. Nakajima,Ruxin Li,Zhigang Xu +15 more
TL;DR: Electron injection and acceleration are successfully separated and controlled in different LWFA stages by employing two gas cells filled with a He/O2 mixture and pure He gas, respectively and the demonstrated scheme paves the way towards the multi-GeV laser accelerators.
