Journal ArticleDOI

All-optical cascaded laser wakefield accelerator using ionization-induced injection.

TL;DR: Electron injection and acceleration are successfully separated and controlled in different LWFA stages by employing two gas cells filled with a He/O2 mixture and pure He gas, respectively and the demonstrated scheme paves the way towards the multi-GeV laser accelerators.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-Brightness High-Energy Electron Beams from a Laser Wakefield Accelerator via Energy Chirp Control

TL;DR: By designing a structured gas density profile between the dual-stage gas jets to manipulate electron seeding and energy chirp reversal for compressing the energy spread, high-brightness high-energy electron beams from a cascaded laser wakefield accelerator are experimentally produced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peta-electron volt gamma-ray emission from the Crab Nebula.

Zhengguo Cao, +270 more
- 08 Jul 2021 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the detection of γ-rays from the Crab Nebula with energies from 5 × 10−4 to 1.1 petaelectronvolts (PeV), with a spectrum showing gradual steepening over three energy decades.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extended Very-High-Energy Gamma-Ray Emission Surrounding PSR J0622+3749 Observed by LHAASO-KM2A.

Felix Aharonian, +256 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the discovery of an extended very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray source around the location of the middle-aged (207.8 kyr) pulsar PSR J0622+3749 with the Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO).
