Preoperative Anemia Does Not Increase the Risks of Early Surgical Revascularization After Myocardial Infarction
TL;DR: Preoperative anemia does not directly increase risks of surgical revascularization performed within 21 days of MI, and preoperative hemoglobin, treated as a continuous variable, yielded similar results.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The clinical rationale for using tranexamic acid to reduce blood loss during cystectomy is explained, the study methods of the ongoing randomized controlled trial are outlined, and the primary outcome is any blood transfusion from the start of surgery up to 30 days post operative.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence and impact of withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies in clinical trials of severe traumatic brain injury: A systematic review.
Guillaume Leblanc,Amélie Boutin,Michèle Shemilt,François Lauzier,Lynne Moore,Véronique Potvin,Ryan Zarychanski,Patrick Archambault,Francois Lamontagne,Caroline Léger,Alexis F. Turgeon +10 more
TL;DR: Given the high proportion of deaths due to the withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies in severe traumatic brain injury patients, and the potential of this medical decision to influence the results of clinical trials, instances of withdrawal should be systematically reported in clinical trials in this group of patients.
