Incorporating Wireless Communication Parameters into the E-Model Algorithm
Demostenes Zegarra Rodriguez,Dick Carrillo Melgarejo,Miguel Arjona Ramírez,Pedro H. J. Nardelli,Sebastian Möller +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a general methodology to incorporate wireless network parameters into the NB and WB E-model algorithms, specifically into the $I,eff}$ and $I_{e,eff,WB}$ impairment factors, which reached a Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) and a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.9732$ and 0.2351$ respectively.

Research on Mobile HCI: Taken Out of Context?
Abstract: This chapter addresses the issue of context-dependency in research on mobile human computer interaction (HCI) with an emphasis on large-scale field studies. Based on a general framework that includes all the factors relevant for Quality of Experience (QoE), the authors first show how context affects basic processes on the side of the user as well the system or device. Then the authors describe three own studies where they aimed to account for context in app usage. The first tried to do so by offering an app for a very specific usage situation (commenting soccer world cup games), the second groups related applications of one domain (on-campus service for students) in an app-in-app bundle. The third example illustrates how evaluation of one single app across various contexts can be achieved in a classic field trial. Based on the authors' experiences, they provide recommendations what to consider when planning a study and finally point out future directions of research.
Poster: An Improved Approach to Gesture-Based Authentication for Mobile Devices
TL;DR: It is shown that gesture- based authentication is feasible on mobile devices, and can be improved by using a gyroscope in addition to the accelerometer presently found on many devices.

Extending the E-Model Towards Super-Wideband and Fullband Speech Communication Scenarios.
TL;DR: This paper proposes a first version of an extended E-model which addresses both super-wideband and fullband scenarios, and which predicts the effects of speech codecs, packet loss, and delay as the most important degradations to be expected in such scenarios.
