Analysis of surface anchored lattice plane orientation in blue phase liquid crystal and its in-plane electric field-dependent capacitance response
Prasenjit Nayek,No Hyun Park,Seong Cheol Noh,Seung Hee Lee,Heung Shik Park,Hyuck Jin Lee,Chien-Tsung Hou,Tsung-Hsien Lin,Hiroshi Yokoyama +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the orientation of the lattice planes in surface-treated (ST) and non-surface treated (NST) cells were analyzed and compared by Kossel diagram technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanosize-confined nematic liquid crystals at slippery interfaces of polymer composites consisting of poly (hexyl methacrylate)
TL;DR: In this paper , a slippery interface in the nanosize-confined electro-optic device was proposed to improve the electrooptic properties of liquid crystal (LC) and polymer composites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Color Shift Free Newly Two-Domain Fringe-Field Switching Mode
Mi Sook Kim,Youn Hak Jeong,Seung Min Seen,Hyang Yul Kim,Seo Yoon Kim,Young Jin Lim,Seung Hee Lee +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new cell structure with pixel electrodes which remain in a 90° rotational symmetry was proposed, allowing the LCs existing in the top and bottoms halves in the center of a pixel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tunable light diffractor associated with liquid crystal molecular reorientation from homogeneous alignment to periodic twist deformation in micrometre scale
TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of a transmissive tunable light diffractor with a fine grating period using a fringe-field switching (FFS) device was demonstrated, where the phase grating was formed by a thin slab of a nematic liquid crystal (LC) film and the amplitude grating is constructed by the electrode pattern of the FFS device.
Journal ArticleDOI
P.73: WITHDRAWN: P.74: Polymer Stabilized Double Twist Cylinders of Blue Phase Liquid Crystal for Reduced Hysteresis and Operating Voltage
No Hyun Park,Hye Ryung Park,Prasenjit Nayek,Sudarshan Kundu,Myong-Hoon Lee,Seung Hee Lee,Heung Shik Park,Hyeok Jin Lee,Hee Seop Kim +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, photo reactive chiral monomer (SRM3) was incorporated into the monomer mixed host blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) to reduce hysteresis and operating voltage.
