Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of a spherically bent quartz crystal for Kα x-ray imaging of laser plasmas using a focusing monochromator geometry
Nathan Kugland,Nathan Kugland,Carmen Constantin,Tilo Döppner,P. Neumayer,Siegfried Glenzer,C. Niemann,C. Niemann +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured peak reflectivity, reflection curve width, and Bragg angle offset of a spherically bent quartz 200 crystal using the x-ray emission from a laser-produced Ar plasma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterizing high energy spectra of NIF ignition Hohlraums using a differentially filtered high energy multipinhole x-ray imager.
Hye-Sook Park,E. D. Dewald,Siegfried Glenzer,Daniel H. Kalantar,J. D. Kilkenny,B. J. MacGowan,Brian Maddox,Jose Milovich,R. Prasad,Bruce Remington,Harry Robey,Cliff Thomas +11 more
TL;DR: An array of 18 pinholes with four independent filter combinations is used to image entire Hohlraums with a magnification of 0.87× and indicates that the characteristic 10-40 keV hot electrons are mainly generated from backscattered laser-plasma interactions rather than from HohlRAum hydrodynamics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thomson scattering in the corona of laser-produced gold plasmas
TL;DR: In this article, the electron temperature in laser-produced gold plasmas was measured with a flat gold disk target with one laser beam of the Nova laser facility at an angle of 64° from the normal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a Platform at the Matter in Extreme Conditions End Station for Characterization of Matter Heated by Intense Laser-Accelerated Protons
Krish Bhutwala,Mathieu Bailly-Grandvaux,Joohwan Kim,Maylis Dozieres,Eric Galtier,Chandra Curry,Maxence Gauthier,Eric Cunningham,Hae Ja Lee,P. Forestier-Colleoni,Adam Higginson,Nicholas Aybar,R. Hua,Brandon Edghill,Joseph Strehlow,Gilliss Dyer,Siegfried Glenzer,J. B. Kim,Neil Alexander,Eduardo Del Rio,Mingsheng Wei,Yuan Ping,A. McKelvey,Gilbert Collins,Farhat Beg,Christopher McGuffey +25 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new experimental platform was developed to simultaneously create and probe WDM at the matter in extreme conditions (MEC) end station at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS).
