Observation of the nonlinear saturation of langmuir waves driven by ponderomotive force in a large scale plasma

TL;DR: In this article, the authors observed the nonlinear saturation of Langmuir waves produced by a probe laser beam interacting with a high intensity pumping laser beam and showed that the wave is nonlinearly saturated consistent with saturation by secondary-ion-wave instabilities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thomson scattering on inhomogeneous targets

TL;DR: The method described here can be applied to various pump-probe scenarios by combining optical lasers and soft x ray, as well as x-ray sources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Absolute Hugoniot measurements from a spherically convergent shock using x-ray radiography.

TL;DR: This work has used x-ray radiography of spherically converging shocks to determine states along the shock Hugoniot, and presented the experimental method using measurements of polystyrene as an example.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isochoric heating of reduced mass targets by ultra-intense laser produced relativistic electrons

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present measurements of the chlorine K-alpha emission from reduced mass targets, irradiated with ultra-high intensity laser pulses, indicating isochoric heating of the target up to 18 eV.
