Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide linkage analysis of cardiovascular disease biomarkers in a large, multigenerational family.
Daniel K Nolan,William E. Kraus,Elizabeth R. Hauser,Yi-Ju Li,Dana K. Thompson,Jessica S. Johnson,Hsiang-Cheng Chen,Sarah C. Nelson,Carol Haynes,Simon G. Gregory,Virginia B. Kraus,Svati H. Shah +11 more
TL;DR: This work has measured 21 cardiovascular-related biomarkers in an extended multigenerational pedigree, the CARRIAGE family (Carolinas Region Interaction of Aging, Genes, and Environment), and four showed noteworthy evidence for linkage in multipoint analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epigenetic Profiling Identifies Novel Genes for Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Formation with Bicuspid Aortic Valves
Asad A. Shah,Simon G. Gregory,Deidre R. Krupp,Feng S,Dorogi A,Carol Haynes,Elizabeth Grass,Shu S. Lin,Elizabeth R. Hauser,William E. Kraus,Svati H. Shah,G C. Hughes +11 more
TL;DR: Using an integrated, unbiased genomic approach, novel genes associated with ascending aortic aneurysms in patients with bicuspid aorti valves are identified, modulated through epigenetic mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
A genome-wide trans-ethnic interaction study links the PIGR-FCAMR locus to coronary atherosclerosis via interactions between genetic variants and residential exposure to traffic.
Cavin K. Ward-Caviness,Cavin K. Ward-Caviness,Lucas M. Neas,Colette Blach,Carol Haynes,Karen LaRocque-Abramson,Elizabeth Grass,Z. Elaine Dowdy,Robert B. Devlin,David Diaz-Sanchez,Wayne E. Cascio,Marie Lynn Miranda,Simon G. Gregory,Svati H. Shah,William E. Kraus,Elizabeth R. Hauser,Elizabeth R. Hauser +16 more
TL;DR: Several novel genes associated with coronary atherosclerosis in individuals chronically exposed to increased ambient concentrations of traffic air pollution are uncovered, which point towards inflammatory pathways that may modify the effects of air pollution on cardiovascular disease risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circulating Tumor Cell Chromosomal Instability and Neuroendocrine Phenotype by Immunomorphology and Poor Outcomes in Men with mCRPC Treated with Abiraterone or Enzalutamide.
Landon C. Brown,Susan Halabi,Joseph D. Schonhoft,Qian Yang,Jun Luo,David M. Nanus,Paraskevi Giannakakou,Russell Z. Szmulewitz,Daniel C. Danila,Ethan Barnett,Emily Carbone,Jimmy L. Zhao,Patrick Healy,Monika Anand,Audrey Gill,Adam Jendrisak,William R. Berry,Santosh Gupta,Simon G. Gregory,Richard Wenstrup,Emmanuel S. Antonarakis,Daniel J. George,Howard I. Scher,Andrew J. Armstrong +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a multicenter prospective study of men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) starting abiraterone or enzalutamide was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discordant and heterogeneous clinically relevant genomic alterations in circulating tumor cells vs plasma DNA from men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer.
Santosh Gupta,Daniel H. Hovelson,Gabor Kemeny,Susan Halabi,Wen-Chi Foo,Monika Anand,Jason A. Somarelli,Scott A. Tomlins,Emmanuel S. Antonarakis,Jun Luo,Ryan Dittamore,Daniel J. George,Colin Rothwell,David M. Nanus,Andrew J. Armstrong,Simon G. Gregory +15 more
TL;DR: The concordance and discordance between paired CTC and cfDNA genomic profiles remain largely unknown as discussed by the authors, however, some genomic alterations displayed substantial discordance despite the use of identical copy number analysis methods, suggesting tumor heterogeneity and divergent evolution associated with poor clinical outcomes.
