TL;DR: This work charted the detailed landscape of pathway alterations in 33 cancer types, stratified into 64 subtypes, and identified patterns of co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity.

Genetic variants and cognitive functions in patients with brain tumors.
Denise D. Correa,Jaya M. Satagopan,Axel Martin,Erica Braun,Maria Kryza-Lacombe,Kenneth Cheung,Ajay Sharma,Sofia Dimitriadoy,Kelli O'Connell,Siok Leong,Sasan Karimi,John K. Lyo,Lisa M. DeAngelis,Lisa M. DeAngelis,Irene Orlow +14 more
TL;DR: This novel study suggests that polymorphisms in genes involved in aging and inflammation, dopamine, myelin and cell cycle regulation, and DNA repair and response to oxidative stress, may be associated with cognitive outcome in patients with brain tumors.

Van Allen,Andrew D. Cherniack,Giovanni Ciriello,Chris Sander,Nikolaus Schultz +37 more
TL;DR: This work delineates the full landscape of oncogenic alterations in mitogenic signaling pathways across cancer, and the pathway templates as well as the richly annotated data set that it provides will constitute an invaluable public resource for future use by the cancer genomics and precision oncology communities.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used genetically engineered lung cancer mouse models and patient samples to dissect how LKB1 mutations accelerate tumor growth by reshaping the immune microenvironment, and they discovered a novel mechanism whereby autocrine LIF signaling in Lkb1-mutant tumors drives tumorigenesis by reprogramming myeloid cells in the immun microenvironment.
