Journal ArticleDOI

[Fe(IV)═O(TBC)(CH3CN)]2+: comparative reactivity of iron(IV)-oxo species with constrained equatorial cyclam ligation.

TL;DR: This study is further extended to the oxo-transfer reaction, which is a two-electron process requiring both σ- and π-electrons transfer and thus a nonlinear transition state.
Journal ArticleDOI

A mononuclear nonheme iron(III)–peroxo complex binding redox-inactive metal ions

TL;DR: A biomimetic example demonstrating that redox-inactive metal ions bound to an iron(III)-peroxo intermediate play a significant role in activating the peroxide O-O bond to form a high-valent iron(IV)-oxo species is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reversible O-O bond scission of peroxodiiron(III) to high-spin oxodiiron(IV) in dioxygen activation of a diiron center with a bis-tpa dinucleating ligand as a soluble methane monooxygenase model.

TL;DR: This is the first synthetic example of a high-spin S = 2 oxodiiron(IV) species that oxidizes alkenes to epoxides efficiently and the bistability of the peroxodiiron (III) and high- Spin (IV) moieties is the key feature for the reversible O-O bond scission.
