The genome of the social amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum

Ludwig Eichinger, +98 more
- 05 May 2005 -
TL;DR: A proteome-based phylogeny shows that the amoebozoa diverged from the animal–fungal lineage after the plant–animal split, but Dictyostelium seems to have retained more of the diversity of the ancestral genome than have plants, animals or fungi.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure of Sperm- and Sei-Whale Insulins and their Breakdown by Whale Pepsin

TL;DR: Re-examined the amino-acid analyses of sperm- and sei-whale insulins (whole insulin and both glycyl (A) and phenylalanyl (B) chains of oxidized insulin, respectively).
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in purine nucleotides of red lateral muscle of rainbow trout.

TL;DR: The changes of these compounds with time in red lateral and in dorsal muscle of rainbow trout were followed by using ion-exchange chromatography and it was found that the enzyme activities of the former affecting the breakdown of nucleotides are greater than of the latter.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new unsaturated uronide isolated from alginase hydrolysate.

TL;DR: AlGINASE, which brings about the enzymic hydrolysis of alginic acid, has been found in the organs of a few of the lower animals and in some kinds of bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in Adenine Nucleotides of Squid Muscle

TL;DR: The changes of nucleotides in squid muscle are investigated under the same conditions as those described previously and the specific phenomena have been observed to differ from those of carp muscle.
