TL;DR: A scalable, highly parallel sequencing system with raw throughput significantly greater than that of state-of-the-art capillary electrophoresis instruments with 96% coverage at 99.96% accuracy in one run of the machine is described.

TL;DR: This sequence was completed in two months at approximately one-hundredth of the cost of traditional capillary electrophoresis methods and demonstrated the acquisition of novel human sequence, including novel genes not previously identified by traditional genomic sequencing, which is the first genome sequenced by next-generation technologies.

Bead emulsion nucleic acid amplification
Jan Berka,Yi-Ju Chen,John H. Leamon,Steven Lefkowitz,Kenton Lohman,Vinod Makhijani,Jonathan M. Rothberg,Gary J. Sarkis,Maithreyan Srinivasan,Michael P. Weiner +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for nucleic acid amplification is described, in which the templates, beads, and amplification reaction solution are emulsified and the nucleic acids are amplified to provide clonal copies of the templates attached to the beads.
Journal ArticleDOI
Three-dimensional coupled fluid-structure simulation of pericardial bioprosthetic aortic valve function
TL;DR: It is suggested that the computer model developed has potential for being a powerful design tool for bioprosthetic aortic valves and was in close agreement with corresponding experimental in vitro data.
Patent
Double lumen catheter
TL;DR: In this paper, a double lumen catheter with unitary outer walls is used to withdraw blood from a vein by a vein using a longitudinal planar septum dividing the interior of the tube into an inlet lumen and a longer return lumen.
