Journal ArticleDOI
Atomic-layered Au clusters on α-MoC as catalysts for the low-temperature water-gas shift reaction
Siyu Yao,Xiao Zhang,Wu Zhou,Wu Zhou,Rui Gao,Wenqian Xu,Yifan Ye,Lili Lin,Xiaodong Wen,Ping Liu,Bingbing Chen,Ethan J. Crumlin,Jinghua Guo,Zhijun Zuo,Weizhen Li,Jinglin Xie,Li Lu,Christopher J. Kiely,Lin Gu,Chuan Shi,José A. Rodriguez,Ding Ma +21 more
TL;DR: A catalyst composed of layered gold clusters on molybdenum carbide (MoC) nanoparticles to convert CO through its reaction with water into H2 and CO2 at temperatures as low as 150°C is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical Activation of CO2 through Atomic Ordering Transformations of AuCu Nanoparticles
Dohyung Kim,Chenlu Xie,Nigel Becknell,Yi Yu,Mohammadreza Karamad,Mohammadreza Karamad,Karen Chan,Karen Chan,Ethan J. Crumlin,Jens K. Nørskov,Jens K. Nørskov,Peidong Yang +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the atomic ordering transformation, applied to AuCu NPs, activates them to perform as selective electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction, in contrast to the disordered alloy NP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly durable, coking and sulfur tolerant, fuel-flexible protonic ceramic fuel cells
Chuancheng Duan,Robert J. Kee,Huayang Zhu,Canan Karakaya,Yachao Chen,Sandrine Ricote,Angelique Jarry,Ethan J. Crumlin,David Hook,Robert Braun,Neal P. Sullivan,Ryan O'Hayre +11 more
TL;DR: Tests on a versatile protonic ceramic fuel cell resistant to carbon deposition and sulfur poisoning show that its durability and the wide range of fuels it can accept make it suitable for use in industry in the near future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-site electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution in neutral media by destabilization of water molecules
Cao-Thang Dinh,Ankit Jain,F. Pelayo García de Arquer,Phil De Luna,Jun Li,Ning Wang,Xueli Zheng,Jun Cai,Benjamin Z. Gregory,Oleksandr Voznyy,Bo Zhang,Min Liu,David Sinton,Ethan J. Crumlin,Edward H. Sargent +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-site H2 evolution reaction (HER) catalysts that minimize the water dissociation barrier and promote hydride coupling in neutral media is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
The origin of high electrolyte-electrode interfacial resistances in lithium cells containing garnet type solid electrolytes
Lei Cheng,Lei Cheng,Ethan J. Crumlin,Wei Chen,Ruimin Qiao,Huaming Hou,Huaming Hou,Simon Franz Lux,Vassilia Zorba,Richard E. Russo,Robert Kostecki,Zhi Liu,Kristin A. Persson,Wanli Yang,Jordi Cabana,Jordi Cabana,Thomas J. Richardson,Guoying Chen,Marca M. Doeff +18 more
TL;DR: Results obtained from lithium symmetrical cells suggest that the quality of the LLZO/lithium interface has a significant impact on the device lifetime and surface polishing can effectively remove Li2CO3 and dramatically improve the interfacial properties.
