Journal ArticleDOI

Differentiation therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma in mice with recombinant adenovirus carrying hepatocyte nuclear factor‐4α gene

TL;DR: The striking suppression effect of HNF4α on tumorigenesis and tumor development is attained by inducing the differentiation of hepatoma cells—especially CSCs—into mature hepatocytes, suggesting that differentiation therapy with H NF4α may be an effective treatment for HCC patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chronic Liver Injury Induces Conversion of Biliary Epithelial Cells into Hepatocytes.

TL;DR: It is shown that NPC-derived hepatocytes replenish a large fraction of the liver parenchyma following severe injuries induced by long-term thioacetamide (TAA) or 3,5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC) treatment and bi-phenotypic cells were also detected in cirrhotic human livers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cancer-associated fibroblasts promote hepatocellular carcinoma metastasis through chemokine-activated hedgehog and TGF-β pathways.

TL;DR: It is reported that CAFs promote the migration and invasion of HCC cells in vitro and facilitate the HCC metastasis to the bone, brain and lung in NOD/SCID mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased circular RNA UBAP2 acts as a sponge of miR-143 to promote osteosarcoma progression.

TL;DR: The results suggest the roles of circUBAP2 in osteosarcoma development and implicate its potential in prognosis prediction and cancer therapy and Mechanistically, circUB AP2 was found to inhibit the expression of microRNA-143 (miR-143), thus enhancing the expression and function of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2, which is a direct target of miR- 143.
