Use of steel slag as a granular material: volume expansion prediction and usability criteria.
TL;DR: It is experimentally proved that certain volume expansion of steel slag can be absorbed internally by the void volume in bulksteel slag under external surcharge weight making the apparent volume expansion equal zero.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drivers and barriers of sustainable design and construction: The perception of green building experience
TL;DR: In this article, the main drivers and barriers of sustainable design and construction in the US construction industry were identified and prioritized using a survey research method using the survey instrument developed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single-molecule fluorescence measurements of ribosomal translocation dynamics.
Chunlai Chen,Benjamin Stevens,Jaskarin Kaur,Diana Cabral,Hanqing Liu,Yuhong Wang,Yuhong Wang,Haibo Zhang,Gabriel Rosenblum,Zeev Smilansky,Yale E. Goldman,Barry S. Cooperman +11 more
TL;DR: Single-molecule fluorescence resonance energy transfer (smFRET) is employed to study structural dynamics over the first two elongation cycles of protein synthesis, using ribosomes containing either Cy3-labeled ribosomal protein L11 and A- or P-site Cy5- labeled tRNAs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carbon emission and its decoupling research of transportation in Jiangsu Province
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors conducted a research on decoupling relationship between economic growth and carbon emission of transportation in Jiangsu Province with consideration of electricity, and the results showed that the amount of carbon emission by electric power is significant, which makes no difference on the overall decoupled states with an obvious periodical characteristic of Weak Decoupling (Expansive Coupling)-expansive negative decouplings-Weak Decouplings).
Journal ArticleDOI
An approach to increase prediction precision of GM(1,1) model based on optimization of the initial condition
TL;DR: The result of a numerical example indicates that the modified GM(1,1) model can obtain a better prediction performance than that from the original GM( 1,1), and can express the principle of new information priority emphasized on in grey systems theory fully.
