Abstract: The present paper endeavours to understand the phenomenon of entrepreneurial intention (EI) among female university students of India through the application of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) adding an additional variable named entrepreneurial education (EE). Furthermore, the paper also attempt to examine the moderating role of entrepreneurship education on the relationships between ATE, PBC, and EI. Data sample of 387 female students was collected, using convenience sampling technique, from three different universities of India using a structured questionnaire developed by Linen and Chen in 2009. After data screening process, CFA and SEM techniques were used for analysing the data. Results of hypotheses testing revealed that basic antecedents of TPB have been found significantly impacting EI of female students while additional variable EE was also found to be positively affecting EI with a low coefficient. The results of this study will help in understanding the phenomenon of entrepreneurial intention among female university students.

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-criterion approach for evaluation of various factors that are responsible for the return of apparels purchased online in context of India is presented, which can be used for retail policy improvements and also to online selling strategy.
Abstract: Online apparel industry is suffering from a major issue of return, with a high rate of return for apparels that are sold online it becomes necessary to investigate the probable reasons of return in online apparel industry. The objective of the study is to develop a multi-criterion approach for evaluation of various factors that are responsible for the return of apparels purchased online in context of India. A total of 34 factors were identified through literature review and discussion with experienced experts from the fashion domain. In this study, best–worst method has been employed to prioritize and rank the factors for online return more effectively. Sensitivity analysis has been carried out to check the robustness of the proposed model of the study. The findings of the study show that fit and size variation, defects, found a better product (wisdom of purchase), wrong product delivery, lenient return policy and value for money were identified as crucial factors for online apparel return. The present study provides valuable research implications which can be used for retail policy improvements and also to online selling strategy.

TL;DR: The results of this case study suggest that the clustering quality and knowledge map of the domain can be improved by considering the document similarity along with their co-citation strength by incorporating the semantic similarity using latent semantic analysis for the abstracts of the top-cited documents.
Abstract: Document co-citation analysis (DCA) is employed across various academic disciplines and contexts to characterise the structure of knowledge. Since the introduction of the method for DCA by Small (J Am Soc Inf Sci 24(4):265–269, 1973) a variety of modifications towards optimising its results have been proposed by several researchers. We recommend a new approach to improve the results of DCA by integrating the concept of the document similarity measure into it. Our proposed method modifies DCA by incorporating the semantic similarity using latent semantic analysis for the abstracts of the top-cited documents. The interaction of these two measures results in a new measure that we call as the semantic similarity adjusted co-citation index. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through an empirical study of the tourism supply chain (TSC), where we employ the techniques of the network and cluster analyses. The study also comprehensively explores the resulting knowledge structures from both the methods. The results of our case study suggest that the clustering quality and knowledge map of the domain can be improved by considering the document similarity along with their co-citation strength.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an up-to-date overview of the research literature to facilitate a greater understanding of the concepts of political marketing and acts as a preliminary reference for new entrants to get familiar with the discipline.
Abstract: The marketing concept has evolved, and its scope extends beyond conventional products and services to include offerings by nonbusiness organizations (Kotler & Levy, 1969). Given that each political party has a mission, structure, competition, and a reporting hierarchy for the members, it can be considered a nonbusiness organization (Katz & Mair, 1994). Analogous to other organizations, political parties also strive very hard to communicate their policy offerings and ensure the party's victory in general elections (Lees-Marshment, 2001). Political marketing is the application of different marketing techniques and concepts by political actors to achieve the goals of the political organization (Ingram & Lees-Marshment, 2002). Political marketing is descriptive as it explains the exchange dynamics involved in political activities and prescriptive as it helps in understanding constituents and recognizing sympathizers and provides recommendations about how to accomplish the goals of the political organization. This concept was first used by Stanley Keller to explain mass persuasion in political propaganda (Scammell, 1999). When the definition of marketing was modified in 1985 to add the word ideas by the American Marketing Association, this concept received acceptance into the marketing literature. As the discipline received acceptance among academicians, studies focused on voter behavior, political branding, social media marketing, and image management, among others. However, there is a shortage of research papers focusing on the publication activity, characteristics of existing studies, and their contribution to the advancement of literature. To fill the mentioned research gaps and explain the relevance as well as penetration of political marketing within the academic discipline, the authors have identified bibliometric analysis as the most appropriate technique. This study presents an up-to-date overview of the research literature to facilitate a greater understanding of the concepts of political marketing and acts as a preliminary reference for new entrants to get familiar with the discipline. The approach adopted in the current study provides useful information to guide the researchers about publication opportunities, key actors (publication sources, institutions, and countries, among others), and cooperative practices. The study also highlights the structural characteristics of different scientific agents involved in the publication process. Based on the insights from the analysis, research agenda for advancing the literature in the political marketing discipline is developed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a systematic review of literature on the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies in paediatrics by using a three-phase systematic review process (SRP).
Abstract: Lean, Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) are the quality improvement (QI) methodologies that have proved their merits in healthcare organisations since the 1990s. The aim of this paper is to present a systematic review of literature on the implementation of these QI methodologies in paediatrics by using a three-phase systematic review process (SRP), i.e., planning, conducting and reporting. The literature search was carried out in Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed for articles published until April 2019. The broad range of outcomes from SRP was collated into six common themes: time optimisation, motion reduction, error mitigation, dosage optimisation, efficiency enhancement, and revenue generation. It is suggested that researchers and practitioners in paediatrics need to understand these QI methodologies deeply and deploy these in a profound way to realise their true potential. This is the first systematic review to synthesise the implementation results of QI methodologies in paediatrics.

TL;DR: This paper examined gender stereotypes associated with entrepreneurs in two culturally different countries, namely USA and India, focusing on perceptions about entrepreneurs in general as well as entrepreneurs in specific venture forms (high- and low-growth ventures, commercial and social ventures).
Abstract: Considerable interest exists in understanding how people perceive and respond to entrepreneurs, more nominally referred to as implicit theories about entrepreneurship. A prominent aspect of people’s implicit theories is gender, perhaps because it is based on readily visible and universal biological attributes. Building on social role theory, we examine gender stereotypes associated with entrepreneurs in two culturally different countries, namely USA and India. Our investigation focuses on perceptions about entrepreneurs in general as well as entrepreneurs in specific venture forms (high- and low-growth ventures, commercial and social ventures). Results offer two new insights regarding gender stereotypes about entrepreneurs. First, despite some similarities across the two countries, there are crucial cross-national differences in how entrepreneurs are perceived. Second, gender stereotypes about entrepreneurs are quite cohesive and coherent in the USA, but considerably more fragmented and disjointed in India. Overall, our research suggests that there is significant cross-national variation in gender-typing of entrepreneurship, which provides support for the position that implicit theories about entrepreneurs result from socio-economic circumstances and cultural conditions of the society.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored various factors affecting stone crushing operations and their interactions and employed Interpretive Structured Modeling (ISM) to extract the interrelationships among the identified barriers and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP) applied to rank the barriers.
Abstract: In an emerging economy like India, stone crushing industry for construction aggregates play a vital role for employment and economy. These industries are usually small scale and labour intensive in nature. Stone mining and crushing have a considerable impact on the biological resources as well as socio economic setting of local population. In this context, therefore, identifying and ranking the barriers that affect stone crushing operations becomes important. The present research attempts to explore various factors affecting stone crushing operations and their interactions. Interpretive structural modelling (ISM) is employed in this research to extract the interrelationships among the identified barriers and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP) applied to rank the barriers. This study can be taken as a reference by the decision makers while deciding the hierarchy of action necessary for effective operations of stone crushing units.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors build on some recent studies that have shown that vendor-managed inventory-based supply chain coordination not only leads to cost savings, but also is a very useful tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Abstract: Organizations are actively trying to incorporate sustainability considerations in their strategic and operational decision making. Recent studies suggest that business process redesign offers a promising avenue for meeting business goals. In this paper, we build on some recent studies that have shown that vendor-managed inventory-based supply chain coordination not only leads to cost savings, but also is a very useful tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Both operational- and emission-related costs are incorporated in such models. We present different ways of structuring the replenishment policy and show that each of the policies leads to different performance outcomes. Furthermore, we also discuss how these policies can be used to cater to the strategic imperatives facing an organization. Implications for proper design of government legislation have also been discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors integrate case studies documenting use of Internet in rural India, developing markets for BoP, rural entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility, using a strategic information systems perspective to draw insights for policy makers and practitioners.
Abstract: e‐Choupal is an ICT‐enabled intervention in rural India, providing agriculture‐related information and services to farmers. Widely acclaimed as a Bottom‐of‐Pyramid (BoP)intervention, e‐Choupal is known for successfully demonstrating sustainable deployment of ICTs for strengthening agricultural market linkages. Much of the popular understanding about e‐Choupal is based on case studies documenting use of Internet in rural India, developing markets for BoP, rural entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. However, recent empirical research put forth interesting insights on intermediating role of ICTs and impact of e‐Choupal. This paper integrates these two sets of literature using a strategic information systems perspective to draw insights for policy makers and practitioners. The dominant narrative projects e‐Choupal as almost altruistic endeavor to empower farmers to overcome contextual constraints such as fragmented farms, exploitative middlemen, poor productivity and limited market linkages. It underplays the strong business imperative for the agri‐business firm to invest in e‐Choupal to address distortions and uncertainty in price and quality during procurement of agricultural commodities. Strategically, the company gained much from integrated supply chain, lower transaction costs, increased sourcing efficiency and product differentiation. But, development outcomes in terms of farmers' empowerment and increasing the overall competitiveness of Indian agriculture have been limited.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the market timing skill of foreign portfolio investors (foreign institutional investors or FIIs) in India as a group and constructed a simulated portfolio that invests in the market index replicating the patterns of aggregate net FII flow.
Abstract: This study examines the market timing skill of foreign portfolio investors (foreign institutional investors or FIIs) in India as a group. A simulated portfolio is constructed that invests in the market index replicating the patterns of aggregate net FII flow. Similar portfolios are constructed replicating the trading behaviour of domestic institutional investors (DIIs) and investors of other categories. The performance of these portfolios is compared with the performance of two benchmark portfolios. The results based on bootstrapped modified internal rate of return of investment portfolios suggest that the FII portfolio does not outperform the benchmark portfolios, nor the portfolios representing investment strategies of DIIs and other investors. Our results suggest that the FIIs do not have superior market timing skills.

TL;DR: It is found that vitamin D levels are not a statistically significant predictor of Covid-19 infections or mortality, and life expectancy was found to be statistically significant predictors of infections and mortality at country level.
Abstract: The study reviews the evidence presented in a recent study linking vitamin D levels and Covid-19 infection and mortality. It was argued that correlation alone may not be useful in establishing a relationship between vitamin D levels and Covid-19 infections and mortality. Appropriate controls need to be included for improved understanding of the relationship. We proposed life expectancy as a potential control. Including this control in a regression model, we find that vitamin D levels are not a statistically significant predictor of Covid-19 infections or mortality. Life expectancy, on the other hand, was found to be statistically significant predictor of infections and mortality at country level.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of Indian cultural context on KM process by systematically exploring, examining and synthesizing the contents of research papers published in this area by utilizing the literature review methodology.
Abstract: Knowledge management (KM) process effectively exploits the knowledge, a strategic asset of the organisation in gaining competitive advantage. KM process is influenced by various factors and culture is one of them. Culture plays a significant role in shaping KM process in the organisation. When KM process is to be applied in an organisation, the local cultural context also needs to be taken into consideration. Various organisations in India are adopting the principles and practices of KM process that have evolved outside India. These organisations need to understand the influence of Indian cultural context on KM process for adoption of effective mechanisms and appropriate interventions. This paper is an attempt in the direction of providing understanding and insight of the influence of Indian cultural context on KM process by systematically exploring, examining and synthesising the contents of research papers published in this area by utilising the literature review methodology.

TL;DR: In this paper, a framework based on the unbiased extreme value volatility estimator to predict long and short position value-at-risk (VaR) was proposed, which incorporates the impact of asymmetry, structural breaks and fat tails in volatility.
Abstract: We provide a framework based on the unbiased extreme value volatility estimator to predict long and short position value-at-risk (VaR). The given framework incorporates the impact of asymmetry, structural breaks and fat tails in volatility. We generate forecasts of long and short position VaR for the cases when future structural breaks are known as well as unknown. We evaluate its VaR forecasting performance using various backtesting approaches for both long and short positions and compare the results with that from return based models. Our findings indicate that incorporating the impact of structural breaks in volatility indeed improves the accuracy of VaR forecasts of the proposed framework.

Abstract: Information security incidents are a major concern for organizations today, and the prevention and mitigation of such incidents are essential for business survival and smooth functioning. Organizations implement a security incident management process to detect and mitigate security incidents. Despite an organization’s investment and efforts to prevent security incidents, its occurrences have increased over the years, signaling limitations in the existing process. We posit that the limitations may be due to the lack of a comprehensive awareness of threats by security professionals. To this effect, we define and conceptualize Comprehensive Information Security Awareness (CISA) as comprising of three elements, namely: security, system, and situational awareness. We leverage the knowledge, skills, and abilities-based approach in NIST-SP-800-16 and security awareness concepts from the literature for conceptualizing CISA. We discuss the effects of CISA on threat management tasks in the context of security incident management.
