TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of using supercritical carbon dioxide as a substitute extraction solvent in nuclear reprocessing was tested by the extraction of lanthanide ions from acidic solution using tributyl phosphate-modified CO 2.
Abstract: The feasibility of using supercritical carbon dioxide as a substitute extraction solvent in nuclear reprocessing was tested by the extraction of lanthanide ions from acidic solution. Lanthanides were extracted from 6 M HNO 3 -3 M LiNO 3 solutions using tributyl phosphate- (TBP-) modified CO 2 . Synergistic effects were also investigated using a combination of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA) and TBP-modified CO 2 as the extractant

TL;DR: In this article, the temperature dependence of the x-ray structure factor for glass was measured at several pressures up to 19.2 GPa and the position of the first sharp diffraction peak moved to a higher momentum transfer as the temperature increased in a specific pressure-temperature range.
Abstract: The temperature dependence of the x-ray structure factor for ${\mathrm{S}\mathrm{i}\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ glass was measured at several pressures up to 19.2 GPa. The position of the first sharp diffraction peak moved to a higher momentum transfer as the temperature increased in a specific pressure-temperature range. The intermediate range structure was thermally relaxed to a denser one. Around 7 GPa, the temperature-induced shift saturated and the crystallization temperature drastically increased. These results support the existence of a relatively stable high-pressure form of ${\mathrm{S}\mathrm{i}\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ glass. A sudden transformation was not observed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the hydration states of lanthanide (Ln)(III) complexes with a series of polyaminopolycarboxylate ligands were evaluated in detail on the basis of the linear correlation between the luminescence decay constants k obs and the inner-sphere hydration number N H2 O in D 2 O-H 2 O solutions.
