TL;DR: The emotion, cognition, physical, and mental response of front‐line medical staff showed obvious "exposure effect", which calls for a psychological crisis intervention strategy that can be helpful.
Abstract: COVID-19 has a significant impact on public health and poses a challenge to medical staffs, especially to front-line medical staffs who are exposed to and in direct contact with patients. To understand the psychological stress status of medical staffs during the outbreak of COVID-19, random sample questionnaire survey was conducted among 2110 medical staffs and 2158 college students in all provinces of China through a questionnaire, which was compiled and completed through the Questionnaire Star platform relying on Wechat, QQ, and other social software. The differences in psychological stress status of different groups were compared through the analysis of the questionnaire. Results revealed that in all provinces of China, medical staffs scored significantly higher on all items of psychological stress than college students (P < .001). In Wuhan, medical staffs scored significantly higher than college students in all items of psychological stress (P < .001). While among medical staffs, the group in Wuhan area scored significantly higher than the group outside Wuhan on the following items: "Thought of being in danger," "The possibility of self-illness," "Worrying about family infection" (P < .05), "Poor sleep quality," "Needing psychological guidance," and "Worrying about being infected" (P < .01) in the Psychological Stress Questionnaire, but on the item "Confidence in the victory of the epidemic," the group in Wuhan area scored significantly lower than the group outside Wuhan (P < .05). The emotion, cognition, physical, and mental response of front-line medical staff showed obvious "exposure effect", which calls for a psychological crisis intervention strategy that can be helpful.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarize and discuss current knowledge about the advances made in understanding the regulation of lipid metabolism in cancer cells and introduce different approaches that have been clinically used to disrupt lipid metabolism.
Abstract: Dysregulation in lipid metabolism is among the most prominent metabolic alterations in cancer. Cancer cells harness lipid metabolism to obtain energy, components for biological membranes, and signaling molecules needed for proliferation, survival, invasion, metastasis, and response to the tumor microenvironment impact and cancer therapy. Here, we summarize and discuss current knowledge about the advances made in understanding the regulation of lipid metabolism in cancer cells and introduce different approaches that have been clinically used to disrupt lipid metabolism in cancer therapy.

TL;DR: In this paper, a C@LiFePO4/carbon nanotubes microsphere composite (C@LFP/CNTs) with a unique double carbon (amorphous carbon and graphitized conductive carbon) modified hierarchical porous structure for providing favorable kinetics for both electron and Li+ is reported.
Abstract: A C@LiFePO4/carbon nanotubes microsphere composite (C@LFP/CNTs) with a unique double carbon (amorphous carbon and graphitized conductive carbon) modified hierarchical porous structure for providing favorable kinetics for both electron and Li+ is reported. By combining large tap density and improved mixed (electronic and ionic) conductivity, high volumetric energy density and superior rate capacity as well as excellent cycling stability are simultaneously achieved.

TL;DR: Significantly altered levels of inflammatory markers were verified in comparison between AD, MCI and control, supporting the notion that AD and MCI are accompanied by inflammatory responses in both the periphery and CSF.
Abstract: Objective Inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Our study aimed to analyse previous inconsistent results of inflammatory markers in AD and MCI quantitatively. Methods Studies reporting concentrations of peripheral or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) markers were included, and eligible data on AD, MCI and control were extracted. Pooled Hedges's g was adopted to illustrate comparisons, and various confounding factors were used to explore sources of heterogeneity. Results A total of 170 studies were included in the meta-analysis and systematic review, which demonstrated increased peripheral levels of high-sensitivity C reactive protein (Hedges's g 0.281, p Conclusion Significantly altered levels of inflammatory markers were verified in comparison between AD, MCI and control, supporting the notion that AD and MCI are accompanied by inflammatory responses in both the periphery and CSF.

TL;DR: The present Consensus Statement represents a collective agreement among 50 international experts to establish a standardized practice of VATS lobectomy for the thoracic surgical community after 20 years of clinical experience.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE: Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy has been gradually accepted as an alternative surgical approach to open thoracotomy for selected patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) over the past 20 years. The aim of this project was to standardize the perioperative management of VATS lobectomy patients through expert consensus and to provide insightful guidance to clinical practice. METHODS: A panel of 55 experts on VATS lobectomy was identified by the Scientific Secretariat and the International Scientific Committee of the ‘20th Anniversary of VATS Lobectomy Conference—The Consensus Meeting’. The Delphi methodology consisting of two rounds of voting was implemented to facilitate the development of consensus. Results from the second-round voting formed the basis of the current Consensus Statement. Consensus was defined ap riorias more than 50% agreement among the panel of experts. Clinical practice was deemed ‘recommended’ if 50–74% of the experts reached agreement and ‘highly recommended’ if 75% or more of the experts reached agreement. RESULTS: Fifty VATS lobectomy experts (91%) from 16 countries completed both rounds of standardized questionnaires. No statistically significant differences in the responses between the two rounds of questioning were identified. Consensus was reached on 21 controversial points, outlining the current accepted definition of VATS lobectomy, its indications and contraindications, perioperative clinical management and recommendations for training and future research directions. CONCLUSION: The present Consensus Statement represents a collective agreement among 50 international experts to establish a standardized practice of VATS lobectomy for the thoracic surgical community after 20 years of clinical experience.
