TL;DR: It was shown that liquisolid compacts has a potential to produce zero-order release kinetics for less water soluble drugs such as theophylline and it was revealed that by changing the type of cosolvent the desirable release profile is achievable.

TL;DR: The molecular targets in OC immune‐targeted therapy are reviewed and an overview of the new molecular marker CD24 and its association with the OC is presented by reviewing the recent literature.
Abstract: Ovarian cancer (OC) is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death among women. The high mortality rate is due to lack of early symptoms, late diagnosis, limited treatment options, and also emerging of drug resistance. Todays, molecular markers have become promising in tumor-targeted therapy. Several molecular markers have been known in OC immunotherapy. Identification of the specific molecular markers with prognostic significance is interested. CD24 is a small sialoglycoprotein which is localized in lipid rafts through its glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor. It has been reported that CD24 is overexpressed in many cancers including OC. Also, CD24 is identified as a cancer stem cell marker in OC. The CD24 expression is associated with the development, invasion, and metastasis of cancer cells. The exact role of CD24 in cancer cells is not clearly understood. Recently, CD24 has been identified as an independent prognostic marker of survival in patients with OC. In this study, we reviewed the molecular targets in OC immune-targeted therapy and also presented an overview of the new molecular marker CD24 and its association with the OC by reviewing the recent literature.

TL;DR: There is justifiable hope that with enhanced pathobiological understanding and biotechnological improvements, gene therapy will be a standard part of clinical practice within 20 years, although much slower than was initially predicted.
Abstract: Gene therapy is one of the most attractive fields in medicine. The concept of gene delivery to tissues for clinical applications has been discussed around half a century, but scientist’s ability to manipulate genetic material via recombinant DNA technology made this purpose to reality. Various approaches, such as viral and non-viral vectors and physical methods, have been developed to make gene delivery safer and more efficient. While gene therapy initially conceived as a way to treat life-threatening disorders (inborn errors, cancers) refractory to conventional treatment, to date gene therapy is considered for many non–life-threatening conditions including those adversely influence on a patient’s quality of life. Gene therapy has made significant progress, including tangible success, although much slower than was initially predicted. Although, gene therapies still at a fairly primitive stage, it is firmly science based. There is justifiable hope that with enhanced pathobiological understanding and biotechnological improvements, gene therapy will be a standard part of clinical practice within 20 years.

TL;DR: In patients with CP, a single application of PDT did not provide any additional benefit to SRP in terms of clinical parameters or inflammatory markers 3 months following the intervention.
Abstract: Background: There are limited clinical experiments addressing the effects of photodynamic therapy (PDT) as an adjunct to conventional scaling and root planing (SRP) on clinical and biologic features of periodontitis. This trial compares the clinical parameters and cytokine profiles in gingival crevicular fluid of patients with moderate-to-severe chronic periodontitis (CP) who have been treated using SRP alone or SRP + PDT.Methods: Twenty-two patients with two contralateral teeth affected with moderate-to-severe CP were selected. After SRP, the participants’ teeth were randomized to receive either no further treatment or a single application of PDT using a 638-nm laser and toluidine blue. Although the change in probing depth was the primary outcome, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level, gingival recession, interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and matrix metalloproteinase 8 and 9 were also evaluated at baseline and 3 months postintervention. An oral rinse assay was also performed to dete...

TL;DR: C censoriously evaluate the works performed regarding the usage of four major subgroups of stem cells, including induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC), Embryonic Stemcells (ESCs), Cardiac Stem cells (CDC), and Skeletal Myoblasts, in heart diseases, at the preclinical and clinical studies to argue the existing disagreements, unsolved problems, and prospect directions.
