05 Oct 1999TL;DR: In this paper, the Doppler effect was used to measure the rotation frequency of a wheel and the vehicle speed, which was then compared in a central computer to detect wheel slip.
Abstract: The method involves measuring (5) the speed of the vehicle (1) directly on the road surface (2) using the Doppler effect. The rotation frequency of a wheel (4) of the vehicle can be measured and the vehicle speed derived from the rotation frequency and the circumference of the wheel. The directly and indirectly measured speeds are compared in a central computer to detect wheel slip. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for measuring the speed of a vehicle wrt. a road surface.

20 Apr 2006TL;DR: In this article, a dissipator for electronic components, the electronic components being intended for the functioning of a rotary electrical machine, the machine comprising a rear bearing, the dissipator comprising a top face and a bottom face including fins.
Abstract: A dissipator for electronic components, the electronic components being intended for the functioning of a rotary electrical machine, the machine comprising a rear bearing, the dissipator comprising a top face and a bottom face including fins. The present invention applies to any type of polyphase rotary electrical machine, synchronous or asynchronous, such as alternators or alternator starters, and also whether it is a case of electrical machines for motor vehicles and driven for example by belt, with cooling by air, liquid or any other solution that can be envisaged.

31 Oct 1996TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduce a tube bundle consisting of oval or oblong tubes which extend through a matrix of cooling fins, and the end portions of the tubes are introduced into holes in a header plate, with a compressible sealing gasket being interposed.
Abstract: A heat exchanger, especially a heating or cooling radiator for a motor vehicle, has a tube bundle consisting of oval or oblong tubes which extend through a matrix of cooling fins. End portions of the tubes are introduced into holes in a header plate, with a compressible sealing gasket being interposed, the gasket having collar portions surrounding the tube end portions, and the latter having an oval or oblong cross section. The major axis of each tube end is equal to the major axis of the body of the tube, while the minor axis of the tube end is greater than the minor axis of the body of the tube as a result of the tube having been expanded or flared during the assembly of the heat exchanger.

06 Nov 1987TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a remote control system that contains a transmitter with devices for transmitting and transferring a coded message, and also a receiver with devices with receivers for receiving the message sent out by the transmitter, devices for comparing the message with a stored message and devices for sending a control signal in the case of agreement between the received message and the stored message.
Abstract: The system is of the type that contains a transmitter with devices for transmitting and transferring a coded message, and also a receiver with devices for receiving the message sent out by the transmitter, devices for comparing the said message with a stored message and devices for transmitting a control signal in the case of agreement between the received message and the stored message The remote control system in accordance with the invention is characterised by the fact that the receiver contains in its memory a previously specified fixed code, reception of which does not cause transmission of the said control signal but actuates devices for input into the said memory of a control code that has been received after the said fixed code, the said, previously specified fixed code being sent out by a programmable transmitter Application in the automobile industry

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of magnetic saturation on the rotor bar current waveform and performance characteristics of a squirrel-cage induction machine was investigated, and it was revealed that the magnetic saturation particularly in the rotor tooth has a significant effect on the bar current and the phenomenon was explained in depth.
Abstract: This paper investigates the influence of magnetic saturation on the rotor bar current waveform and performance characteristics of a squirrel-cage Induction Machine (IM). The levels of iron saturation in different parts, including stator and rotor back iron, tooth body and tooth tips etc., are examined and their influences are investigated, while the dominant part which causes the non-sinusoidal rotor bar current waveform is identified. It has revealed that the magnetic saturation, particularly in the rotor tooth, has a significant effect on the bar current waveform and the phenomenon is explained in depth.
