TL;DR: Malondialdehyde levels in preeclamptic women were significantly higher than normal pregnancies and the apoptotic index in villous trophoblasts increased, but proliferation index did not change in preeClampsia.
Abstract: We aimed to determine the oxidative stress and antioxidant status in preeclamptic placenta. Also, we investigated the apoptotic index of villous trophoblast and proliferation index of cytotrophoblasts. The study included 32 pregnant with preeclampsia and 31 normotensive healthy pregnant women. Malondialdehyde (MDA) and total antioxidant status (TAS) levels were measured in the placenta. For detection of apoptosis and proliferation in trophoblast, apoptosis protease activating factor 1 (APAF-1) and Ki-67 were used. Placental MDA levels in preeclamptic women were significantly higher than normal pregnancies (p = 0.002). There was no significant difference between the groups in the TAS levels of placenta (p = 0.773). Also, the apoptotic index in villous trophoblasts increased (p

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the constraints on the anomalous quartic couplings at the LHC and showed that the bounds on these couplings are at the order of approximately 4 orders of magnitude more restricted with respect to current experimental bounds.
Abstract: We investigate the constraints on the anomalous quartic $ZZ\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ couplings through the process $pp\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\ensuremath{\gamma}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\ensuremath{\gamma}qZX$ at the LHC. Taking into consideration various forward detector acceptances and integrated LHC luminosities, we find 95% confidence level bounds on the anomalous coupling parameters. We show that the bounds on these couplings are at the order of ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$ which are about four orders of magnitude more restricted with respect to current experimental bounds.

TL;DR: In this article, a protocol for the recovery of rare earth elements based on the dissolution of an aqueous solution of a rare earth metal chloride in an ionic liquid (IL) followed by stripping of the dissolved metal ions into an annealing phase is proposed.

TL;DR: The results of this study show that CoQ(10) administration before the reperfusion period of testicular torsion provides a significant decrease in testicular lipid peroxidation products and expressions of inducible nitric oxide synthase, endothelial nitricsase, and germ cell-specific apoptosis.

TL;DR: It is shown that emergence of VR in heterogeneous neuron population requires less energy than a homogeneous population and electrical coupling strength among neurons plays a key role in determining the weak signal processing capacity of the heterogeneous population.
