TL;DR: In this article, the surface states of TiO2 nanotubes and their influences on charge recombination in cell were studied. And the results of the absorption spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy show that Ti3+ species exist on TNTs' surfaces in the form of oxygen vacancy-Ti3+ states, and the analysis of the electrochemical impedance spectra of cells demonstrate that the electron recombination is aggravated in TNTs-containing cell due to the insertion of TNTs in working electrode.
