A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions by using a block-centered finite-difference approach and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.Abstract:
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.read more

Influence of the first-order exchange coefficient on simulation of coupled surface–subsurface flow
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between the first-order exchange coefficient (FOEC) and surface-subsurface exchange flux, surface-surface head difference and time to initiate overland flow are systematically explored using 1D soil column simulations with the fully integrated code HydroGeoSphere.

TL;DR: The results from these simulations indicate that the best option is the implementation of shallow pumping in the Wakool Irrigation District, where management of rising watertable levels and land salinisation is a continuing problem.

Positive and negative impacts of longwall mine subsidence on a sandstone aquifer
TL;DR: A 7-year study of a sandstone aquifer overlying an active long-wall mine in Illinois has supported a comprehensive model of these impacts as mentioned in this paper, showing that subsidence caused increases in permeability and storativity over the longwall panel.
