A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions by using a block-centered finite-difference approach and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.Abstract:
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.read more

TL;DR: The application of satellite differential synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry, principally coherent (InSAR), and to a lesser extent, persistent-scatterer (PSI) techniques to hydrogeologic studies has improved capabilities to map, monitor, analyze, and simulate groundwater flow, aquifer-system compaction and land subsidence as discussed by the authors.

Flow to a well of finite diameter in a homogeneous, anisotropic water table aquifer
TL;DR: In this article, a Laplace transform solution is presented for the problem of flow to a partially penetrating well of finite diameter in a slightly compressible water table aquifer, which allows for evaluation of both pumped well and observation piezometer data, accounts for effects of well bore storage and skin and allows for noninstantaneous release of water from the unsaturated zone.

A computer program (MODFLOWP) for estimating parameters of a transient, three-dimensional ground-water flow model using nonlinear regression
TL;DR: The U.S. Geological Survey MODFLOWP (pronounced MOD-FLOW*P) as discussed by the authors is a modular, three-dimensional, finite-difference, ground-water flow model (MODFLOW) which, with the new Parameter-Estimation Package (MEP) can be used to estimate parameters by nonlinear regression.

TL;DR: The results of general circulation model predictions of the effects of climate change from the Canadian Centre for Climate Modeling and Analysis (model CGCM1) and the United Kingdom Meteorological Office's Hadley Centre (model HadCM2) have been used to derive potential impacts on the water resources of the Great Lakes basin this paper.
