A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions by using a block-centered finite-difference approach and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.Abstract:
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.read more

Heavy‐tailed log hydraulic conductivity distributions imply heavy‐tailed log velocity distributions
TL;DR: In this paper, a Monte Carlo approach was used to generate hydraulic conductivity fields with a heavy-tailed Levy α stable distribution of increments in log hydraulic conductivities and log velocity.

Determining the long-term operational performance of pump and treat and the possibility of closure for a large TCE plume.
TL;DR: Insight is provided on evaluation of closure potential for large, complex contamination sites and a reference on selecting performance metrics for site management on the significant impacts of permeability heterogeneity on remediation at this site.

Application of numerical modeling for groundwater flow and contaminant transport analysis in the basaltic terrain, Bagalkot, India
TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional steady-state finite difference groundwater flow model is used to quantify the groundwa- ter fluxes and analyze the subsurface hydrodynamics in the basaltic terrain by giving particular emphasis to the well field that supplies domestic, agricultural, and industrial needs.
