Abstract
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.

Groundwater flow modeling of Quaternary aquifer Ras Sudr, Egypt

TL;DR: In this article, a simulation of the Quaternary groundwater system using a three-dimensional groundwater flow model is presented, which is used to evaluate the potential of the most prospective aquifer in Wadi Sudr area.

Probability Density Functions in the Analysis of Hydraulic Conductivity Data

TL;DR: In this article, the role of probability density function (PDF) choice on hydraulic conductivity and the estimation of the local-scale effective hydraulic conductivities has been reviewed and the most widely used skewed PDFs, namely, the lognormal, gamma, and log-gamma PDFs are included in this study.

Generating MODFLOW Grids from Boundary Representation Solid Models

TL;DR: A method for automatically generating MODFLOW-compatible grids from boundary-representation solid models that provide a grid-independent definition of the layer elevations that can be used to immediately re-create theMODFLOW grid geometry after any change to the grid resolution.

Modeling groundwater/surface-water interactions in an Alpine valley (the Aosta Plain, NW Italy): the effect of groundwater abstraction on surface-water resources

TL;DR: In this article, a transient groundwater model using MODFLOW2005 and Streamflow-Routing (SFR2) Package is presented, aimed at investigating water exchanges between the main regional river (Dora Baltea River, a left-hand tributary of the Po River), its tributaries and the underlying shallow aquifer, which is affected by seasonal oscillations.

Radionuclide migration at experimental polygon at Red Forest waste site in Chernobyl zone. Part 2: Hydrogeological characterization and groundwater transport modeling

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results from the comprehensive hydrogeological site characterization program including the following issues: geological structure of the study site, hydraulic properties of the deposits, tracer tests in the aquifer, results of groundwater monitoring and unsaturated zone regime studies, as well as data on the 90Sr distribution in the unsaturated zones and aquifer.
