A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions by using a block-centered finite-difference approach and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.Abstract:
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.read more

Effects of turbulence on hydraulic heads and parameter sensitivities in preferential groundwater flow layers
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of turbulent groundwater flow on hydraulic heads and parameter sensitivities were examined in a carbonate aquifer in southern Florida, showing that turbulence either increased or decreased simulated heads from their laminar elevations.

Historical reconstruction of wastewater and land use impacts to groundwater used for public drinking water:Exposure assessment using chemical data and GIS
TL;DR: Assessment of potential historical exposure to a broad range of chemicals associated with wastewater and land use impacts to 132 groundwater wells and one surface water body supplying drinking water to 18 public distribution systems on Cape Cod, MA suggests that adequate characterization of water quality heterogeneity within water supplies is an important component of exposure assessment methodologies in health studies investigating impacted drinking water.

Prioritisation approach for estimating the biophysical impacts of land-use change on stream flow and salt export at a catchment scale
TL;DR: A recently developed modelling approach is presented that can be used to predict the variation in likely catchment response to changes in woody cover using only broadly available data, and compare favourably in broad terms.

Stormwater infiltration trenches: a conceptual modelling approach.
TL;DR: The main goal is to develop a model that can be employed for the assessment of the mitigation efficiency of infiltration trenches in an integrated urban drainage context and it is confirmed the important role played by the clogging phenomenon on such infiltration structures.

Using Kalman Filtering to Improve and Quantify the Uncertainty of Numerical Groundwater Simulations: 2. Application to Monitoring Network Design
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied Kalman filtering and deterministic groundwater flow model to improve and quantify the uncertainty of numerical groundwater simulation, and provided the dynamic relation between the variance of the estimation error and the measurement strategy.
