Abstract
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.

Characterizing groundwater quality and seawater intrusion in coastal aquifers of Nagapattinam and Karaikal, South India using hydrogeochemistry and modeling techniques

TL;DR: A severe problem of water supply in eastern coastal India is the saline water intrusion into aquifers due to growing industrialization, urbanization, groundwater withdrawals and sea-level rise as mentioned in this paper.

Macroscopic cellular automata for groundwater modelling: A first approach

TL;DR: A groundwater model representing two-dimensional flow in unconfined aquifers is presented, based on the paradigm of macroscopic cellular automata, that represents dynamical systems which are discrete in space and time, operate on a uniform regular lattice and are characterised by local interactions.

Considerations for Use of the Rora Program to Estimate Ground-Water Recharge From Streamflow Records

A T Rutledge
TL;DR: The RORA program as discussed by the authors can be used to estimate ground-water recharge in a basin from analysis of a streamflow record, which is appropriate for use if the groundwater flow system is characterized by diffuse areal recharge to the water table and discharge to a stream.

Reducing monitoring gaps at the aquifer-river interface by modelling groundwater-surface water exchange flow patterns

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical groundwater model is used to simulate hydrological exchange flow rates between the aquifer and the river in order to evaluate whether surface water infiltration is likely to occur outside the "window of detection", i.e., the shallow streambed.
