TLDR
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions by using a block-centered finite-difference approach and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.Abstract:
A computer program for simulating ground-water flow in three dimensions is presented. This report includes detailed explanations of physical and mathematical concepts on which the model is developed. Ground-water flow within the aquifer is simulated by using a block-centered finite-difference approach. The program is written in Fortran 77 and has a modular structure, which permits the addition of new packages to the program without modifying existing packages.read more

TL;DR: In this article, a MODFLOW model is used to assess groundwater resources in the Geba basin by means of a model calibrated using observed groundwater levels, yielding a clear insight into the groundwater flow systems and reserves.

Effects of Unsaturated Zone on Aquifer Test Analysis in a Shallow-Aquifer System
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison between two hypothetical flow models of an unconfined aquifer, one saturated and the other variably saturated, indicates that the VA2DT model which explicitly models drainage from the unsaturated zone provides a better conceptual framework for analyzing aquifer test data and better estimates of the lateral and vertical hydraulic conductivity in fine grained sands.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) measurements from the lower beach face to the sand dune in winter 2012-2013 to characterize the shape and evolution of an intertidal saline circulation cell in a high-energy macro-tidal beach, the Truc Vert beach (SW France) in order to assess the distribution of saline, brackish and fresh water in this high energy beach aquifer.

TL;DR: From the resulting preconditioners, the incomplete Cholesky and the incomplete factorization are shown to be the most efficient, but the latter is superior from the point of view of computer storage and is recommended for all practical applications.
