A Novel Transition From Substrate Integrated Suspended Line to Conductor Backed CPW

TLDR
In this article, a transition from substrate integrated suspended line (SISL) to conductor backed coplanar waveguide (CBCPW) is proposed, which eliminates the drawbacks of the traditional suspended circuits and integrates the suspended circuits effectively.
Abstract
A novel transition from substrate integrated suspended line (SISL) to conductor backed coplanar waveguide (CBCPW) is proposed in this letter. The proposed transition utilizing the standard PCB techniques eliminates the drawbacks of the traditional suspended circuits and integrates the suspended circuits effectively. The new transition is a self-packaged system verified by both simulation and experiment results. Back-to-back transition structure has insertion loss of less than 0.6 dB and return loss of better than 15 dB from dc to 8 GHz.

S-parameter-based IC interconnect transmission line characterization

TL;DR: In this article, a methodology for extracting high-frequency IC interconnect transmission parameters directly from S-parameter measurements has been demonstrated using on-chip test structures, which consists of: (1) building onchip interconnect structures for microwave test, (2) characterizing and subtracting measurement system parasitics, extracting the transmission line impedance and propagation constant (attenuation constant and phase constant) from the calibrated data, and (4) extracting the Telegrapher's Equation transmission parameters (R, L, C, and G).

Transmission characteristics of finite-width conductor-backed coplanar waveguide

TL;DR: In this paper, a finite-width conductor-backed coplanar waveguide (FW-CBCPW) through line is placed within a test fixture commonly used in laboratories, and the scattering parameters of the through line are obtained theoretically by approximating the FW- CBCPW as a simple system of coupled transmission lines.
