TLDR
In this article, a spectral element method was proposed for numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations, where the computational domain is broken into a series of elements, and the velocity in each element is represented as a highorder Lagrangian interpolant through Chebyshev collocation points.

An overlapping Schwarz method for spectral element simulation of three-dimensional incompressible flows

TL;DR: In this paper, a Schwarz preconditioner for the spectral element method using overlapping subdomains for the pressure was developed, and a coarse grid projection operator whose solution was computed via a fast parallel direct solver.

Marangoni convection in binary mixtures with Soret eect

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied Marangoni convection in a dierentially heated binary mixture, where the fluid is subject to the Soret eect and is contained in a two-dimensional small-aspect-ratio rectangular cavity with one undeformable free surface.

Lamb wave interaction with composite delamination

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed account of guided wave interaction with delamination in laminated composites modeled using time domain spectral finite element (TSFE) method is studied. But the results of this paper are limited to the case of composite laminate.

Strong formulation finite element method for arbitrarily shaped laminated plates - Part I. Theoretical analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a new technique for solving the static analysis of arbitrarily shaped composite plates by using Strong Formulation Finite Element Method (SFEM) is presented, which is an extension of the classic Generalized Differential Quadrature (GDQ) procedure.

Spectral method solution of the Stokes equations on nonstaggered grids

TL;DR: In this paper, the Stokes equations are solved using spectral methods with staggered and non-staggered grids, and pseudospectral methods using nonstagggered grids have comparable or better accuracy than the staggered grid formulations.

Computational and experimental study of a captive annular eddy

TL;DR: In this article, the main flow and the captive eddy between it and the walls are analyzed, and it is concluded that the main role of the eddy is to shape the flow with a rather small energy exchange.
