TLDR
In this article, a spectral element method was proposed for numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations, where the computational domain is broken into a series of elements, and the velocity in each element is represented as a highorder Lagrangian interpolant through Chebyshev collocation points.

Interactive Simulation and Visualization of Lamb Wave Propagation in Isotropic and Anisotropic Structures

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated simulation and visualization environment is presented that enables a detailed study of Lamb wave propagation in isotropic and anisotropic materials, and the results are displayed interactively showing that the scattered wave-field at the defect is highly directional.

Large eddy simulation of turbulent flows via domain decomposition techniques. Part 1: theory

TL;DR: In this article, large eddy simulations of incompressible turbulent flows in complex geometries are discussed and the application of the Schur complement method for the solution of the elliptic equations arising from the fractional step procedure and/or the semi-implicit discretization of the momentum equations in velocity-pressure representation.

Fully numerical Hartree-Fock and density functional calculations. I. Atoms

TL;DR: HelFEM as discussed by the authors is a variational atomic finite element solver for Hartree-Fock (HF) or density functional (DF) calculations on atoms, which can be used to calculate electric properties.

A Spectral Element Approximation to Price European Options. II. The Black-Scholes Model with Two Underlying Assets

TL;DR: A Legendre quadrilateral spectral element approximation for the Black-Scholes equation is developed to price European options with two underlying assets and it is found that GMRES with a fully implicit approximation in time, preconditioned with the mass matrix is the most efficient.

Computational and experimental study of a captive annular eddy

TL;DR: In this article, the main flow and the captive eddy between it and the walls are analyzed, and it is concluded that the main role of the eddy is to shape the flow with a rather small energy exchange.
