Analysis of crack formation and crack growth in concrete by means of fracture mechanics and finite elements
TLDR
In this article, fracture mechanics is introduced into finite element analysis by means of a model where stresses are assumed to act across a crack as long as it is narrowly opened, which may be regarded as a way of expressing the energy adsorption in the energy balance approach.About:

Mechanism of fatigue crack growth in concrete
TL;DR: In this article, an analytical model of fatigue crack growth in concrete is proposed in order to identify its governing mechanism, based on the tension-softening behaviour of concrete under cyclic load.

Orthotropic damage coupled with localized crack reclosure processing. Part I: Constitutive laws
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a model for cracks opening and reclosure management based on a displacement formulation, which is easy to implement in most of the finite element codes based on displacement formulation.

Behaviour of partially encased composite columns with high strength concrete
TL;DR: In this article, a finite element model capable of simulating the response of partially encased composite columns under eccentric and concentric axial loading is presented, which can predict the overall stress-strain behavior of high strength concrete.

Bridge Rating Using System Reliability Assessment. I: Assessment and Verification by Load Testing
TL;DR: In this article, conditions assessment and safety verification of existing bridges and decisions as to whether a bridge requires posting currently are addressed through analysis, load testing, or a combination of the three steps.

Shear-slip behaviour and ductility of composite dowel connectors with pry-out failure
Martin Classen,Josef Hegger +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose models for the calculation of the slip capacity and the description of the shear-slip characteristic, considering the composite dowels' shear capacity and elastic connector stiffness.
