Search for mass-symmetric ternary fission in the reactions 14 N(53 A MeV) + 197 Au and 232 Th

TL;DR: In this paper, the ternary yields of heavy hot composite systems with excitation energies of 1.5-2.5 MeV / amu have been studied in the reactions of 14N(53 A ǫ) with 197Au and 232Th.

Sensitivity of the particle-residue angular correlations to the compound nucleus angular momentum distribution

TL;DR: In this paper, detailed features of the multistep evaporation process concerning the decay of the 59 Cu compound nucleus, formed by a 32 S-beam at an energy E Lab = 8 MeV/amu, have been analyzed with respect to mean decay paths leading to a selected residual nucleus, in the frame of an out-of-plane angular correlation experiment, at 90°.

Angular momentum transfer in deeply inelastic collisions from exclusive sequential-fission experiments

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed Kinematically complete experiments on the three-body exit channels in 7.5 MeV/amu /sup 208/Pb and /sup 238/U on /sup 58/Ni and/sup 90/Zr. The bulk of the events (> 99%) can be interpreted as sequential fission following deeply inelastic collisions.

Equilibrium statistical treatment of angular momenta associated with collective modes in fission and heavy-ion reactions

TL;DR: In this paper, the angular momentum effects in deep inelastic processes and fission have been studied in the limit of statistical equilibrium, and the effect of collective rotational modes on the fragment spin alignment is explored and discussed in light of recent experiment.

Dissipative effects in projectile fragmentation

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-step model is proposed for intermediate energy heavy ion collisions, where dissipative stage and abrasion stage are considered with special emphasis on the phase space configuration of the participant region.

Nuclear dynamics with the (finite-range) Gogny force: Flow effects

TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduce the effective finite-range interaction of Gogny in the semi-classical description of heavy-ion reactions based on the Landau-Vlasov equation and show that this energy dependence increases the flow and reproduces the values obtained with stiff local Skyrme forces.
