Acetaminophen-induced nephrotoxicity in rats: Protective role of Cardiospermum halicacabum

TL;DR: Methanol and petroleum ether extracts of Cardiospermum halicacabum had a significant nephroprotective activity against acetaminophen-induced nephrotoxicity in rats, associated with restoration of serum alkaline phosphate, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, uric acid, cholesterol, total protein and albumin level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antihepatotoxic activity of Rosmarinus tomentosus in a model of acute hepatic damage induced by thioacetamide.

TL;DR: A dried ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Rosmarinus tomentosus and its major fraction separated by column chromatography were evaluated for antihepatotoxic activity in rats with acute liver damage induced by a single oral dose of thioacetamide.
Journal Article

Isolation and structure elucidation of antioxidant compounds from leaves of Laurus nobilis and Emex spinosus.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the in vitro antioxidant activity of Laurus nobilis and Emex spinosus leaves and to isolate and structurally elucidate the active compounds in those leaves.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Pimenta pseudocaryophyllus extracts on gout: Anti-inflammatory activity and anti-hyperuricemic effect through xantine oxidase and uricosuric action.

TL;DR: The specie P. pseudocaryophyllus showed remarkable anti-hyperuricemic effects through uricosuric effects and inhibition of xanthine oxidase and therefore can be considered as a promise in the treatment of diseases related to hyperuricemia.

Phytochemical analysis of ethanolic extract of leaves of leucas indica (eelli)

TL;DR: In this article, preliminary phytochemical screening of leaves of Leucas indica (EELLI) was performed using generally accepted laboratory technique for qualitative determinations, which showed the presence of phytosterols, triterpenoids, flavinoids, lactones, glycosides, fatty acids, phenolic compounds and tannins.

Spot tests in organic analysis

TL;DR: Inorganic spot test analysis has been extensively studied in the literature, see as discussed by the authors for a survey of the current state and prospects of inorganic inorganic spot-test analysis, including preliminary orientational tests for the elements, their ions and compounds.
