Effects of Luffa operculata on Allium cepa Root-tip Cells

TL;DR: Allium cepa root-tip cells submitted to infusions of Luffa operculata dried fruit showed decreased mitotic index, polyploid nuclei and metaphase-C, suggesting a possible interference of the plant with the mechanism of formation of the mitotic spindle.
Journal Article

In Vitro Antioxidant and Free Radical Scavenging Potential of Medicago sativa Linn.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the in vitro antioxidant and free radicals scavenging potential of methanol extract of Medicago sativa using different antioxidant tests including 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazil (DPPH) free radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavengence, hydrogen peroxide scavenging and metal ion chelating activities.

PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF METHANOLIC EXTRACT OF ROOTS OF ASPARAGUS RACEMOSUS (Shatavari)

TL;DR: In this article, phytochemical screening of methanolic extract of roots of A. racemosus was performed using generally accepted laboratory techniques for qualitative determinations, the analysis showed presence of phytosterols, triterpenoids, flavonoids, lactones, glycosides, fatty acids, phenolic compounds, saponins and tannins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxicity screening of some South American Solanaceae.

TL;DR: Alcoholic extracts of seven plants belonging to the Solanaceae family were phytochemically screened and evaluated for their cytotoxic activity by Brine Shrimp Test with Artemia salina larvae and inhibition of Cell Division Test on sea urchin Loxechinus albus fertilized eggs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ocimum Gratissimum Linn Worsens Streptozotocin-Induced Nephrotoxicity in Diabetic Wistar Rats

TL;DR: The study concluded that O. gratissimum worsens diabetes induced renal injury and results showed significant reduction in body weight and blood glucose levels in the groups that received either metformin or O.gratissimum.

Spot tests in organic analysis

TL;DR: Inorganic spot test analysis has been extensively studied in the literature, see as discussed by the authors for a survey of the current state and prospects of inorganic inorganic spot-test analysis, including preliminary orientational tests for the elements, their ions and compounds.
